Definitely bad communication. You should not have had the extra angst. flowers

I am humbly apologising for my rant! This is indeed another check up! Sorry to those I have wrongly accused, although I think if it had been explained to the other half that this was going to happen then it would have saved us both getting hot under the collar. I still think that a great deal of money is wasted on administration within the National Health Service, and still think it is a great service for us.

Who runs the clinic, Printmiss? A lot of eye clinics are run privately now,by companies such as Virgincare.

Not eye related but DH had to have a pre op examination no more than a few days prior to his op. Even though he had been seen in clinic 3 weeks prior to the pre op exam.
I think it's standard procedure.

Perhaps, when things have settled, the new clinic and old one, will have got things sorted, administrative wise?

My husband has been waiting for an appointment at the eye clinic, and about ten days ago received one to attend a new clinic which has opened nearer to our home, and which we attended on the day appointed - this past week. Yesterday he received another letter from the same department for another appointment for exactly the same examination - pre operative diagnosis - at another date. My husband was surprised that at the first appointment there seemed to be no record of previous treatment - some quite extensive - but the doctor said that he would be able to do the cataract and then treat the macular, and an appointment would be made.
The service received at the clinic was above reproach, fast efficient and most of all kindly, and these are the folk at the sharp end of caring - but the administration seems to be all to pot, and we in this area are often hearing of mistakes in appointments, lost records etc. Rather than keep ranting on about A&E, full beds, et. al, should we not be making sure that the people who are supposed to support the people who are really important to the National Health do their job efficiently.
