Or own a Victorian house with high ceilings.
Or be older and wiser
Or learn to be creative (as in painting, sewing homemaking ect]
Or learn another language
Or ride a bike
.......... At this stage of life do you have minor dissapointment? (I know I should count my blessings but I love a good old grumpy moan. It's one of the things I'm really good at) wink

Never travelled the world.
Never done a parachute jump.
Never learned to play the piano.
Never joined a choir.
Never had enough money (though said I would only marry a rich man as a teenager!)
Never even met a rich man!!
Too many more 'nevers' to go on
But
Brought up 3 DC on my own and have 5 DGC who claim to love me. Could be a lot worse.

Never learned to swim
Never learned to drive
Never been on a cruise, but rectifying that next year
Never seen the fjords in Norway, but that`s where the cruise is going
Never been very good at housework, too late to worry about it now!

I don't have disappointments so much as regrets;
That I never made more of my educational ability;
That I never learned to sail or
Speak a foreign language (though I get by in a couple) or
Never took up fly fishing years ago;
Never had the self-confidence to fulfil my career potential - turned down too many job opportunities for the wrong reasons;
Never made myself drive on motorways - too scared to do it now!
Never made it all the way up Ben Nevis, or Snowdon, under my own steam.
Never got the chance to tell my father how much I loved him - he was always there, and then he wasn't.

But I am rich many ways. I am reasonably fit, have a lovely hubby and great kids and an awesome, gorgeous grandson.

Oh Teetime now I'm intrigued and can't stop wondering about all the naughty things you want to do grin

Teetime Wed 11-Nov-15 09:02:16

Never ridden a horse
Never shot a gun (a good thing)
Never swum more than a width
Never got a hole in one
Never done several naughty things that I can't say but seem quite commonplace now
Never had a tattoo (a good thing)
Never been on a cruise (but I might)
Cant play a musical instrument
Cant sew
Cant do art/craft

Can cook, clean, organise, write, play social golf, and keep husband happy for 38 years (mostly).

Update to my message of February 8th. DH now on board for the downsizing and is actively preparing this house ready to put it on the market in the next couple of years. It will take a couple of years to get it ready.

Never ridden a camel. Properly. In the desert.

Still time though.

NfkDumpling Wed 11-Feb-15 16:49:40

I was brought up by a father who always said, "Why not, go for it" so I'm still thinking. Must be something!

trisher Wed 11-Feb-15 13:21:57

Didn't work hard enough at school
Am an uninspired cook
Don't garden
Verge on being lazy
Haven't finished designing my Time Machine to have another crack at doing things better a second time.

Have a kind, thoughtful and hoarding husband.
Smashing son with my sense of humour

Never lived in London.
Didn't study English Literature after O Level.

I didn't divorce my husband much earlier I wasted a lot of years
I can't speak another language or swim or ride a bike
I haven't been to Italy or South Africa ( will still try and do those)
I can't dance well ( always envied people who can, I can't dance at all actually)

However I do have 2 wonderfully supportive daughters and 2 fabulous grand-daughters and now live on my own in a lovely little house where I can do anything I want and we all go on holiday together regularly so I have EVERYTHING I want really now just want as many years as possible to enjoy it.

I wasted 25 years in a loveless marriage and places I hated.
I put up with a bullying boss for far too long.
I never got a donkey.

Retiredguy Mon 09-Feb-15 15:36:55

Not a disappointment as such but I would have liked to be fabulously wealthy before I was 35.
( or anytime will do)

Here are some of the things I'd never in my wildest dreams thought I'd do. (They have been thought almost impossible in my youth.) I've
Seen New York from the top of the Empire State building
Seen the pyramids
Swam (paddled really) in the Red Sea
Own my own house
Drive a car
Fly in an airplane (I still get a thrill even though I do it 2-3 times a year)

Here are the dreams that did come true
A happy marriage to a good nice ( at times bloody really annoying) man
Had healthy children
Lots of lovely grandchildren
Always been in work
Still part of a large extended family
Lived a good life
Been reasonably healthy
Been to Rome ( this was my most hopeful wish it was the only place I really really wanted to go to)

tiggypiro Sun 08-Feb-15 18:31:53

My cup is much more than half full but I'm sure there are many things I have not been able to do. I much prefer to concentrate on the things I can do and if I can't do anything it is because I am doing something else !

tanith Sun 08-Feb-15 18:22:35

Haven't persuaded OH to fly(in a plane) grin
Seen Australia
cut my hair really short
Made friends easily
bought my children a car each
never been to Scotland
driven a racing car
never scuba dived.

Maybe its not too lot for a couple of them

annodomini Sun 08-Feb-15 17:38:38

I didn't get into the hockey first XI
Didn't get made captain of the second XI

Haven't written a best seller - or even a worst seller.

chloe1984 Sun 08-Feb-15 17:21:06

Never had lovely long legs or lovely long blonde hair.
Never really been that good at cooking, never had a son, never had a tattoo, never really changed the world as I thought I would when I was 18.
Never been sexy, never had a huge circle of friends .
However on the plus side never had a serious illness, had a long and more or less happy marriage, had two wonderful daughters, had lots of lovely holidays, and I have two perfectly if somewhat very sturdy legs.

kittylester Sun 08-Feb-15 17:01:03

I didn't go against my fathers wishes and become a Nurse instead of working in an office.
I didn't have another baby before the choice was taken away from me,I would have loved 4 children.
I didn't move abroad when the children where small I am not destined to endure cold weather.

Marry a French millionaire.

(seriously!)

No, I don't regret it now, but I did while I was married to Ex.
