Favourite room

My favourite room is our lounge. Very cosy once the woodburner is lit. It has painted floorboards (muted clay) with large rugs, a sofa, two wing armchairs and a club chair in the corner which is only pulled out when we need extra seating. The dogs curl up on bean bags when they're not sneaking on the sofa.

Like rubysong, I use the dining room as a bit of a workroom as we only eat in there when the family come round.

The dining room as we hardly ever eat in there and I can leave the ironing board up and the sewing machine on the table ready for use.

My favourite room is my bedroom. I've just moved into a new flat and the bedroom is ensuite!

I love my tiny but newly fitted kitchen. Its the first time I've been able to afford to have exactly what I want.

I spend a lot of time in the kitchen too tanith, it's where we all congregate - maybe that's why I like the lounge!! grin

The kitchen I spend a lot of time in there watching the garden through the French doors in the Winter time, and in the Summer the doors are open most days and sometimes I even cook dinner grin

The lounge too. It is big, with 3 windows and a patio door, so lets in lots of light. Plus it has great views.

I don't know whether we have had this as a topic before and apologise if we have but I am operating under quite a lot of stress at the moment!!

Having just drawn the curtains in the lounge, I was surprised to realise how much pleasure I get from just being in there. It is painted a dark red with heavy gold curtains, two big sofas and a couple of easy chairs, a big coffee table, a mix of old and new wooden storage and book shelves and is, in fact, quite lived in! blush But I love it!

What is your favourite room in your house?
