My good news

My daughters twins arrived on 23rd December 2014 - two girls 4Lbs. 15oz. and 5Lb 4oz. The family is doing fine and my SIL has been excellent. Fully involved from the very start - he's still grinning from ear to ear and helping DD by nappy changing, top-up feeding by cup and cuddling and nursing them to give DD some extra sleep so she isn't dog tired. It's all so very exciting and as all my other Grandchildren are on the other side of the world it's extra special. I'm trying very hard not to interfere as we only live 20 minutes away. It's very difficult!

Lovely, welcome news, ayse.

As the Nana of twins myself, I can almost guarantee you won't have to wait long until your help is urgently requested! grin

ayse how lovely that at last you will be able to be more of a 'hands on' granny rather than a 'Skype' one. Congratulations on your double helping of happiness. flowers

Thank you all for your wonderful congratulations. SIL is self-employed and has organised his work time so he can be off work until the end of January. What a very special time for my DD and OH. Still, yesterday my DD said that once SIL had gone back to work she would be needing me. How wonderful.
Going over to see them later today. Collecting my 2 oldest granddaughters from the station as they in the UK at the moment staying with their Dad. He is coming too so it will be lovely to see him as well.
Twins are called Emily and Jessica, Millie and Jess(ie) for short and they are almost back to birth weight. DD is doing a grand job of breast feeding now the engorgement has gone away.
Yes, it was a wonderful Christmas present and thank you all again

Happy New Year to all and hopefully 2015 will be a good year for everyone. wine brew and cupcake

How lovely. Congratulations to you all. How nice to be so near that you can babysit when they are a bit older to give some couple time to your dd and s in law. Enjoy those lovely babes (and maybe a bit of ironing too for the family too!) What a fab start to 2015.
