Kitty sorry the home is so poor for passing info on - it can be really frustrating. My aunt is one of the shufflers (hopefully not your culprit) and often helps herself to other residents things and leaves her own teeth, glasses etc. in their rooms. Her current prize possession is a child's plastic bracelet. We don't know whether to laugh or cry as she was always beautifully dressed and really looked after her lovely things.

I should think so too, Crafting Rory is a very sensitive creature.
Thunder clap... do hope that our power isn't about to be cut off. It's a regular happening in these parts. I need contact with you lot...otherwise I tend to feel a little lonely. Aw!

I hope your connection stays, soop. It's calmed right down here, the sun is shining and it's beautiful. I would never have thought it would be like this earlier this morning, it was pretty vile.

I would dearly love a kitten or two, but think they would have to be outdoor cats as we have no way of installing a catflap without it costing a small fortune in replacement French windows.

Cough is finally subsiding, tummy just about back to normal but I have dislocated my jaw from all the coughing and so am in pain. DBH has gone shopping to find something for dinner tonight that won't involve too much chewing. Soup for lunch I suppose.

Bits of everything weatherwise here too soop dark skies, sunshine, snow and strong winds. Poppy Cat went out for all of 3mins today, enough of that and she came shooting back into the house. Quite happy to sit looking through the window.

Agus You are so right. The weather is a right mix of sunshine, hail, thunder, roaring wind and whatever else Mother Nature can throw our way. Like Rory, I'm staying put.

Triffid doing well thanks Agus. Still has 5 huge pink and white flowers but is getting a bit top heavy and starting to lean sideways. Not having anything else to hand, I have had to tie it up using a large skewer and some of my DGD's tartan ribbon (looks very festive) .

Crafting I think your Amaryllis is the one I bought yesterday. Skewer and tartan ribbon sounds delightful plus a ready made centre piece for Burn's Night I have sometimes used a knitting needle BTW if it's possible to move it to a room just a bit cooler, the flower will last longer.

Oh nooooo. I have just done a great long post to update you all and thankyou for all your good wishes and I've lost it.
I'm going to have my dinner instead.

Weatherwise, some snow yesterday which then turned to rain, still raining but the winds have calmed down for the time being. No doubt my private weather forecaster, aka DH, will keep me informed on the hour, every blooming hour!

DH. Is improving and hopes to be allowed out of bed today. He will have to wear a stiff collar for at least a month though.
I'm fine, DN who has come out to look after his dad (DH's older brother) is being fantastic and I've had offers of help from friends as well. The children would come out if I really needed them.

Jane r how are you today? That cough is really debilitating and to have a painful jaw as well must be awful.

Gaga have the cats settled in happily? I have a confession to make. We were once rejected as adoptees by the RSPCA.
I think it was our address at the time as soon after the Guide Dogs Assoc. accepted us as puppy walkers. We walked three for them in the end.

soop when Tara arrived from the CPL 6 years ago, I had a room sorted upstairs for her so that if she wanted she could stay away from the activity downstairs because I had been told that she was very shy. She leapt on to the arm of a chair and stayed there, happy as anything and after that quite quickly took over my life. She followed me every time I went to the loo during the night for a week- maybe she thought that it would be a quick leap through the bathroom window, abandoning her.

Charleygirl Rory shadowed me during the first week or so. Now he shadows MacSporran At this moment he's snoring (gently) and lolling on my chair.

Tara woke me at 8.30am today-I think that she wanted me to switch on the heating, which I did, she came downstairs with me and promptly fell asleep on the top of my chair, having had breakfast. She spent around 3 minutes in the garden but I think that it was too cold for her. It is wash time at present, a snooze until Foyles War starts and then she will want to be in/out like the proverbial yo-yo, not giving me much peace to enjoy it. I still love her and she knows it.

Ooh! Foyles War...we like that programme. We lost power for the space of two minutes not long ago. I shall therefore say my farewell for today. I hope to catch up with all the latest news tomorrow.

Hi everyone and hope all the traumas and incidents reported on here have eased a lot!

Pusscat update. Well we decided that their names were too longwinded so Arizona is now Tinka and Kansas is now Belle (run the two together and what do you get....). They are remarkable - have now explored the whole house - currently on an expedition in the deep dark understairs cloaks and shoe cupboard - both willing to sit on my knee at the least excuse, both eating well and using the litter tray and both bringing so much pleasure to us. They are just sweet and funny and a joy! Belle is the nervy one and jumps and hides at strange noises but is getting braver. Tinka is a little tinker and loves climbing and is the brave leader in all these adventures even though she is much smaller than Belle.

Mr Gaga had taken some photos on the ipad which have been successfully sent to very interested DGDs who long for a pusscat of their own but for various reasons (some even valid!) can't have one. I will try and put them on GN but am a complete duffer at that sort of thing. Still - just given Mr G a nice glass of my best chablis so may be able to persuade him to do so.

So nice to share this with my GN pals - you lot are lovely!

Oh Gagagran I am just imagining the enjoyment the two new members of your family are giving. Loving welcome to Tinka and Belle. I haven't a clue how to put photo's on this thread either but if I go into the Pictures thread I find it very simple.

Your GDs will be chomping at the bit to meet them. My own two GDs insist that Poppy Cat is their cat too and I always agree, yes, she is part of the whole family

Again, what a pity we don't have this easy option to show photo's for soop's kitchen!
