Every year certain family members ask me what I want for Christmas and tell me their budget. I make it as easy for people as I can by copying links to things I would like with a range of prices up to the said budget. Almost every year the same person gets me something that is not on my list and then asks if I like it and is it what I want; knowing full well that it isn't something on my list. Usually I reply graciously, but this year the gremlins got me and I said something along the lines of, "It isn't what I said I wanted, but thank you for the gift, I really appreciate it." It was so unlike me that we were both quite shocked I think.
I have decided that next year I shall simply request that the same list as this year be consulted. #feeling rather naughty
I do try to be kind and I honestly value the thought, but I am becoming more assertive I think. (Or do I mean grumpy?)
