After much thought, DD did a really kind thing and asked the Idiot if he would like to have the children on Christmas Morning for a couple of hours, give them their presents and take them to see his parents.
His reply was that he has them on Saturdays and Sundays and that Christmas Day is Thursday. 
He is, however, having them on Boxing Day and the day after which include a Friday.

I just discovered that my DD calls him a really rude word that I would never use, but only when speaking to her sisters so as to spare my blushes.
DH calls him a b*msl*t because all that comes out is s**t. That really makes me giggle.
I hasten to add, we are very careful in front of the children.
