Saw the grandchildren after a year!

Hello, I have just returned from the Falkland Islands where we saw our granchildren for the first time in a year. I was really worried that they would have forgotten us but they just picked up where they left off and we had a great time. I also worried that they might then get too attached and be upset when we left - but they just took it in their stride. For any long distance grandmas out there - it was wonderful to see them but reassuring to know they can manage fine without us. I can stop worrying all the time now!smile

I am full of respect Rockgran ! I go to China every year but getting to the Falklands is something else entirely. I am so glad you had a wonderful time and it is so good to be able to see where they are and know what and where they are talking about. DD has moved flat and I can't as yet visualize their surroundings and will be happier when I can.
