What's the worst sandwich filling?
Family don't pitch in and help
Slainte to all my Granspals. Settle down and relax. The bubbly is nicely chilled.

Just do not know what to add as I am catching up with your news. Apart from echoing all those wonderful posts above- my sentiments entirely.
Joyeux Noël to you and McS, an inspiration indeed xxx
soop what an inspiration you are
I guess you would rather just have Mr S back to health and not facing surgery and treatment. I was listening to a wonderful news item yesterday about the surges in advancement across the board and the intelligent way that treatment is delivered to each individual patient. I hope you both stay strong and resilient, and we are all here cheering you both on. Much love x
My goodness, you lot are such lovely "peoples." A huge hug and thanks for every single message.
bags...put your feet up and stop being busy. You are needed by us lot.
Does anyone know if that Galen is home and dry? It wouldn't surprise me to hear that she's on yet another globe-trotting mission. Don't forget the chocs!!!
loopylou Welcome. It's good to have you join this motley merry gang of special persons.
granjura and when
I'm away to feed the pussy cats. It's pitch black outside and just a wee bit damp. This means that I shall need to put some freshly warmed newspaper inside the little chalet. I can't have Tortoiseshell getting a chill from a damp bottom. [daft as a brush...me!]
soop I think that the undergrowth in the surrounding forrest is marginally colder and damper than the lovely house that you have set up for her. I am very surprised that she has not moved in unless a certain young man has said no because he is jealous. He is no.1 top cat.
With luck MacSporran will be admitted asap for surgery. A good job that it was spotted. I am not sure of the distance but I imagine that Glasgow is another long journey, one which you could do without.
I am afraid that Rory will just have to entertain himself.
Where are our chocolates? Icould not find them the last time I visited the kitchen to give Rory a hug.
Soop - you and MacSoop are an inspiration to us all. Good luck with the scans and treatment. I echo all the posts and lovely sentiments,
Getting chocs tomorrow! ( now Anne is out of quarantine. Another long story I'll tell you on return.. Overreaction by Cunard with a vengeance!)
Galen please do not bring us norovirus when you deposit the chocs in the kitchen. D&V is not quite what any of us envisaged so close to Christmas. I will stay well clear in case you have it as it is highly infectious.
Keep smiling the Soops, I'm sure your positive attitude is a great help (along with all the good vibes from G/netters).
Galen my 'cruising' friend says they confine you to your cabin and put sticky tape across the door
soop and MacS. Your fighting spirit and positive attitude will get you through this plus all your Granspals who will be with you in spirit. X
What's happened now Galen? Whatever caused quarantine measures, I hope it hasn't affected you.
Dear soop and MacS, I've only just read your news.
I can only echo Agus's comment and say how much love is flowing your way.
I'm sending you plenty of
and
Once again I walk into our kitchen to find yet more loving messages. MacSporran thanks each and every one of his Gransfans for your kindness. When I read the messages to him, I swear he had a very cheeky twinkle in his eye.
The aortic aneurysm is not at a critical stage. It will, however, from hereon, be closely monitored. The MRI scan (which will be carried out in Clydebank hospital in early February) will take an in-depth look at what's what. MacS's blood disorder belongs to one department, the aneurysm is another. I guess that we'll be doing a lot of traipsing across Scotland...much like Mr Soutra who has frequent visits to London.
Galen dear girl, were you confined to your cell? Trust you to create mayhem.
Let us hope that you are "released from captivity" very soon. Otherwise, those chocs you promised us, will have been scoffed. Get well soon, Anne. And please remember, those chocs belong to us lot
kitty that's good news for your daughter. I am sure the planets will align and it will all work out.
My happy plans for today are all awry because on the same day as the arrival of the mortgage offer, my SIL came home and announced that he had been offered a good opportunity for a permanent job with development path - in central London! - when they have bought a house in Wiltshire and the rail fares into London will cost £750 a month and DD is in tears because "if he commutes to London every day I will never see him" (he often works late as it is). So I've done the "tea and sympathy" thing, told her to go upstairs and wash her face; and hopefully we can salvage our day together with a nice lunch out. But Paddington movie has been shelved. Drat.
However I shall keep
and send
to all the kitcheners.
Grannyknot That's a blow, but there must be a solution somewhere for your dd. It's horrible when they are upset.
(I wasn't too struck with Paddington, I thought it a bit odd)
I was a bit wobbly yesterday after receiving an anonymous letter re my sil and dd! They've had a lot, and death threats, so it's an ongoing police case, but still........upsetting.
Dd is doing ok though, and her little house is looking very homely downstairs (lots of donations from friends of furniture etc), still chaos upstairs.
Roll on next year!
Grannyknot Oh dear! There isn't a lot any of us can say. It's a dilemma that only your daughter and son-in-law can solve together. However, tea and sympathy goes a long, long way when a caring Mother administers it. The news has obviously upset your daughter. The best you can do is listen and help her to look at sensible solutions.
Lona Such people who derive pleasure from hurting others are despicable. For goodness sake, do the police have no idea who the culprits are? I feel so angry and sad for you.
There are suspects but the proof is elusive. My poor dd is absolutely on the edge, her girls are the only things keeping her going, along with our family love.
Dear Lona, I've never encountered anything even remotely like what you and your family are going through. It beggars belief that such evil people continue to blight your lives. I'm so sorry for you.
lona what a shock! I'd hate that. Despicable indeed to send an anonymous letter to you, the mother.
Thanks everyone for the encouragement. The 'tea and sympathy' seems to have done the trick, and I'm appeasing the situation the one way I really can - with a slap up meal tonight
- complete with dessert!
By the way, MacSporranhas identified the problem with the phone connection. We need a replacement ADSL Splitter/Filter. We can now call off the engineer who would most certainly have charged us £120 plus some for the call out and repair. Good things come to those who persevere.

Clever MacSporran, well done!
Just bought new ADSL spitter thingummy, from Amazon for few ££s, problem solved!
I found when unscrewed box which phone cable what'sit goes in we had to plug ADSL directly into internal connection, our phone cable box slot had given up the ghost too.
Great to have a cheap solution for once!
You need a couple of
now to celebrate!
Where is every one when you want a big hug.

I have been running around like a blue arsed fly over the last few days to sort out my early Christmas this Saturday.
OH has been pigging useless. If he hasn't been faffing about on his computer he has been out singing or playing carols some where or other. Leaving me to try and get the place organised.
He is now in the spare room room on the computer faffing about with online cards. The room needs tiding and the beds pulling out. The bath room will need a good clean, all by Friday evening. He caused the clutter and I will get moaned at if I try to clear it up.
I have lots of cooking prep to do tomorrow. I am out Friday evening at my carol concert.
Having cleared all my wrapped presents out of the room where DGS's travel cot is, I realised there is not enough cupboard space to put anything as his hoarded clutter has taken over taken most of the cupboard space in the house. I have had to cart stuff into the loft.
Sorry I needed that rant at least Rory has listened.
Commiserations Nelliemoser..... They can be so exasperating and as you say, 'pigging useless'! Just come downstairs to what was a relatively tidy living room and kitchen and the notsodear H has spread all the paperwork from his last 5 years accounts all over the work surfaces, floor, table, sofa etc in, I suspect, a fruitless task looking for one piece of suddenly vital paper
Wanted an early start as have 8 coming for pre-Christmas lunch........not good start to day when feeling murderous.........!
(((Hugs)))) coming your way
(((Hugs))) to you both!
Have a little rest, some
and hot buttered crumpets!
Here you are. Two kilos of Belgium chocolates. A mix of hard and soft ( just like ^ you lot^. Enjoy.
