Can't have too many of .....

You don't wash the teaspoon or the mug all day - shock horror . Little did I think I would uncover such a revelation.

It is comforting to realise though that the teaspoon thief is alive and active in so many homes, not just mine.

I do use a different teaspoon if I have to make someone else coffee, though (never drink it myself).

I wouldn't want my teaspoon to be contaminated - I swear I can taste it if someone's stirred my tea with a coffee spoon!

What about paper tissues ? I can never have too many of those about. When I am with my two adorable but snotty GSs I am perpetually wiping someone's nose.

I think they all end up in the same place as the odd socks!!

I use the same teaspoons all day, too! well - five times for coffee during the morning and a clean one three times for tea after that. But as I drink them black I can't think of them as dirty! Totally agree re the plastic boxes and lids, it drives me mad. I had a huge clear out last week. And bought ten new ones in yet another size.

I once found one each of DS and Dh's socks in our hedge. I assumed that they were eloping, but was unable to explain how they got there as at that time my washing all got dried indoors.

The only way to Save the Teaspoon is to have a certain number in the drawer and count them as you put them back. This gives you a chance to check the compost bin, rubbish bin, recycling and the side of the sofa!

Mugs and teaspoons. DH is a terror for hanging on to his mug to use again, he says it is a legacy from work days. That is fine if you are trying to hang on to your own mug or a particular favourite but I have a cupboard full of identical white china mugs.

Hunt that is far too logical!

Potato peelers. How many times I have thrown them out with the peelings...

Ok for those who lose teaspoons I counted mine. 27 in the bits and pieces drawer and 6 better quality ones in the posh cutlery drawer. #hangsheadinshame.

Of that collection of 27 there are a only group of two and a group of three which are the same.

I still have all the teaspoons and coffee spoons from the canteen of cutlery that my parent's bought us for our wedding - the reason I still have them is that I can't stand them as they are so dated.

I have several teaspoons, all which do not match, and one solitary spoon which came with the canteen of cutlery from my wedding. I never understood why I only got one teaspoon when the canteen contained six of everything else.. I use this particular spoon for measuring spices, as it is the only one that will fit into the spice jars from the supermarket. It has a habit of disappearing for days on end, but usually turns up again in the drawer.
In my case I can't have too many pairs of kitchen scissors, whenever I want to use them for the purpose they were designed for, I can't find them. DH usually has taken them for, who know's what?

Me too, I went to IKEA a couple of months ago and bought 6 pairs of kitchen scissors. I really was that desperate. They end up in greenhouses, shed and garage and study and den, anywhere but the kitchen and it's NOT ME.

Known scientific fact - teaspoons, combs, sunglasses and odd socks actually exist in a parallel universe.

My favourite potato peeler is missing. I live on my own so it must be me! I have a box of souvenir teaspoons with coats of arms that my mother collected from various towns. They are of no value whatsoever, and I don't know what to do with them! I have a feeling that there may be some teaspoons in my compost heap because I never seem to have as many as I should have.

At my old school, virtually every departing member of staff bought glasses and teaspoons for the staffroom and we still ended up stirring our tea with fork handles (shades of the two Ronnies?) I solved the mystery for myself when I realised I had at least 3 teaspoons of unknown origin in my drawer so I must have brought them home in my lunch box with the yoghurt carton. Who knows where MY disappearing teaspoons have gone though?
