Morning Mick and everyone. It's raining hard here in SE Hampshire but not as windy (so far) as expected. We did need a good downpour on the gardens so I am quite pleased to see the rain. Hope it doesn't spoil events round the country though.

Happy days to all! sunshine

Overcast but still here in Durham. Hope it's not the calm before the storm. Very apprehensive as I'm having the two DGSs for a week on their own. I've had them to stay separately for two or three days. But not both together for five.

Its throwing down here in Brackley , they have a motor cycle event today in the town centre normally has crowds.
Will watch the Ride London Classic on TV this afternoon instead.

More rain last night and its very overcast this morning in north essex I don't think we are going to have a very nice day sad

ninathenana Sun 10-Aug-14 08:33:49

Morning all.
Rained in the night, but no wind. We've just had another shower and it's very grey but Bertha hasn't arrived here.......yet !!

Waiting for DH to start cooking his usual Sunday full English. Then it's just a day of pottering for us.

Good morning all!

I think Bertha is here in North Leicestershire at the moment. It is really dark and pouring with rain. The temperature has dropped but the wind isn't too bad - yet!

I live days like this - in the autumn and winter!

Charleygirl Sun 10-Aug-14 09:16:57

It had started to rain very heavily when I crawled out of bed about 15 minutes ago but now it is the odd drip. I have a nasty feeling that was the calm before the storm. It is so dark I am having difficulty seeing the letters on the Querty keyboard. Ah well, I cannot expect blue skies and warm sunshine 9 months of the year! Enjoy your day everybody, in spite of the rain.

Very black with squally, heavy showers here. A decided nip in the air too.
Very glad we went to see the spoonbills at Cley Wildlife Trust yesterday rather than today as intended. Winter draws on!

Lona Sun 10-Aug-14 09:35:25

Morning! It started to rain heavily here at 8am and it's still going strong!
No wind though thankfully, as my dil and dgc are flying out on holiday in a couple of hours.
I have to go out shopping as my dd and other dgc are coming for the day. Just when the 'frig is empty!

Hope no-one gets flooded hmm

NfkDumpling Sun 10-Aug-14 09:35:26

My goodness, that last squall nearly sent the rain through the conservatory roof! Where did summer go? sad

suebailey1 Sun 10-Aug-14 09:37:50

Cats and dogs here in Melton Mowbray but not too windy - glad to have got some golf in yesterday afternoon- Lady Captains Day today - I wasn't playing anyway as I don't like her!!!wink

Brendawymms Sun 10-Aug-14 10:03:18

Very windy her in East Sussex but the rain is not too bad. I think Bertha has gone north of us. However the Met office still has us getting it later. My daughter in Chester says it's lashing it down.

Wet, wet, wet. Got up early to go shooting. When I got there it'd been cancelled angry

I'm a bit late this morning. Weather in Northumberland began we'll enough, dry but cloudy. Now the rain has started and a breeze is picking up. Dad's birthday today so going visiting after lunch. Enjoy your day everyone, hope the weather is not too off putting.

ninathenana Sun 10-Aug-14 11:28:45

Bertha has just arrived with a vengeance !!

dustyangel Sun 10-Aug-14 11:31:45

Good morning all. Blue skies and sunshine here. Just been listening to Cliff Richard on local radio. I'm not a fan as such but he always comes over as very pleasant. He has just told people who are saving unopened bottles of "his" wine to drink the wine and just keep the bottle. Sounds good to me wine

Keep safe and dry in the stormy weather everyone.

It`s been pouring down here, but is easing off now. You might know, all these lovely good weather weeks and I`ve not been anywhere, today I`m off out this afternoon, and the weather changes!

NfkDumpling Sun 10-Aug-14 12:52:26

We've just been pressure hosed from above! Thunder is still rolling around and it's very windy - but it's brightening in the west. Where are you Dusty? Can we all come and visit?

suebailey1 Sun 10-Aug-14 17:11:42

Sunny here now but windy.

dustyangel Sun 10-Aug-14 17:33:11

In the Algarve hills Nfk and you are all very welcome. I wouldn't mind a swap for a cool Scottish breeze right now.

NfkDumpling Sun 10-Aug-14 19:33:02

The Algarve, how wonderful! Although I have to agree it's a bit hot in August!

dustyangel Sun 10-Aug-14 22:18:47

Just wondering why I mentioned a Scottish breeze, confused a Norfolk one would have been more apt.
It is still 23C outside.
