I enjoyed Amy McDonald's song and all the dancing Glaswegians. Pity Rod Stewart had to come in on it - she was doing a great job without his help.

I'm always tempted to watch Susan Boyle through my fingers in case something goes wrong.

I thought that it was just me not enjoying the start and even cringeing at times. Apparently the amount spent was 500 and odd million and Alex Salmond said that the Commonwealth Games would be better than London where 7 billion was spent. I do not think that one could compare.

One also has to be a certain age and Scottish to remember Andy Stewart, that is going back a few years. Not everybody is going to recognise the Scottish songs sung by John Barrowman.

Am enjoying it now the athletes are coming in. So smiley, and colourful.

John Barrowman has very a very pleasant accent, not the nonsense he used in this Opening ceremony.

Those dancers must be fit, to keep that up!
