Soop sweetheart, HAPPY BIRTHDAY! xxx Sorry to be late, only just come on here for the first time today.

Yay!!! At last! The nice man from the village has sorted the latest computer problem. I've been itching to get into our kitchen and thank you all for your lovely kind messages. Thanks again to bags. I know that when I'm incognito for any reason whatsoever, she'll fill the breach and pass my messages on to you.

We booked a table at a restaurant that we visited and liked some nine years ago. When I mentioned our plans to our pals they gave each other a "knowing look"...which unnerved me a tad. We did the Co-op shop and tootled along, in tiddling rain, to the restaurant. We walked in and around and then we walked out. Why? It had a damp/dank smell about it. The only couple having a drink appeared to be on drugs....the smell of cooking oil and overcooked greens was not pleasant. We then went along to the bistro which bags and I use whenever we get together. In spite of driving rain it was full and the queue was about to spill over into the lane. We then went elsewhere. The final venue was clattery...all hard surfaces. We had fish and chips but no mushy peas [because they don't do them]...still, I couldn't help but think, aren't we so LUCKY. The poor displaced people fleeing to the mountains from a murderous enemy, would certainly think so.

When we returned home a call came from the doctor's surgery. A test result is back and the GP wishes to discuss the results with MacSporran on Monday. After two long months we may now be a little wiser.

Well now, I've a token or two to spend. I'm therefore about to do a little on-line shopping. After which, we shall raise a glass of cheer to each and every one of you. Big, warm birthday hugs from me to you.

Happy birthday soop. I've left an enormous birthday cake in the kitchen for you so there will be a piece for all-comers to wish you many happy returns! (Do people still say that?)

I read about the skin probs with interest as I recently had Bowens disease on my face which Dr Google tells me is "squamous cell carcinoma in situ" l had it frozen twice and it's gone - hopefully not to return but if it does it can be frozen off so I am not worried. Hope all goes well with you and Macsporran as you get these medical things sorted soop.

Tegan most definitely. Any change with a freckle, wart or whatever in size, shape or colour should be looked at.

I've got a 'freckle' right by the corner of my eye that seems to be getting darker. Should I get it looked at?

Be careful if you do a lot of driving - if the sun streams in through the window on the driver's side then use sunscreen on that ear!

(Not a joke, DD had something 'suspicious' removed from her right ear, she spent quite a lot of time driving and wears her hair up.)

Talking of sunbathing, I was a true sun worshipper umpteen years ago. For a very long time I have not sat in the sun for longer than ten minutes at a time (unless I was in the shade). I had a "suspicious" mole removed from my chest 15 years ago. This latest wee beastie doesn't cause me alarm. Once the patch on my shin started to change in colour and texture, I took myself off to see the doc. It will get zapped or removed and that will be that.

I'm about to add a beautiful image to my album. I took the photo last night through the sitting room window of the sun setting behind the islands of the Inner Hebrides. I must have hundreds of like sunsets. However, through my eyes they are all special.

soop Me too! Right in the corner of my eye and nose! No problem since, but the treatment made one side of my face swell up and I looked like the elephant man for about 5 days!

soop, both my mum and sister had basil skin carcinomas, had them removed no problems afterwards. Obviously i am very aware of this and as I live in a country with plenty of sun although I don't like sunbathing I use sun screen all the time when I'm out and about in it.
So guess what? I've got a vitamin D deficiency. Ironic

Soop years ago I told my GP I had a BCC. He said 'no, just watch it' I did and became more convinced. I made another appt at the GPs on a day I was doing a locum down there.
Guess what? It was with myself.
One of the other partners agreed with me and it was removed by the plastic surgeon. It was a BCC.
That was almost 20 years ago and I've had no problems since!

soop as a former Serf Efrican, I have had more basal skin carcinomas chopped out than you can shake a stick at - the first one about 35 years ago. 'S nuttin' to worry about.
