Bucket List…..

It's fun to have a bucket list, even if we know most of the things on it are unrealistic. Anyway, it gives us something to aim at.
And I agree with Nonnie, they don't have to be all big things.
I am now going to make 2 bucket lists... One for big almost unachievable things (but you never know!) and one for small things which I think I can achieve before I turn up my toes.

Holly DS has been to Norway and Iceland but the best sighting of the aurora was near his home in County Durham. There is a photo on pictures.
Did I really say Italy was on my bucket list ? no I haven't been yet but there again I haven't been anywhere very much since GC started school.

I only have two things left on my wish list: to see the Northern Lights and to see the Ice Festival at Harbin.

It looks like my eldest granddaughter, my son and I will be off to Tromso this winter to see if we can catch a glimpse of the Northern Lights - although solar activity was supposed to peak in 2013, it is thought that there is a double peak so we might be lucky!

World cruise on Cunard. As I like the grills class I think it would cost £40,000 therefore not a hope unless I win the lottery or pools, neither of which I do!

I think I must have done my bucket list in my youth. wink Can't really think of anything else I desperately want to do.

To go onto the Indian Railway to Simla, same railway journey in Chile to Patagonia. I love to travel, if I was filthy rich I'd never be at home. I'd take long trips, city breaks ,cruises etc all in comfortable style of course. I'm fussy about where I sleep and go to the loo.

I agree with jings, I'm just glad to be happy with my life, and not to be living in a cardboard box at the side of the road! (That's always been my greatest fear since I left my first ex)

Reading this makes me think I must get going!

Au revoir.

Bucket lists don't have to be amazing, they can include little things which you somehow have missed doing. Mine includes going to the Thursday morning coffee morning at the church down the road which we still haven't done in 5 years.

I have ticked some off, balloon ride, seeing youngest child happily married, going back to Cornwall and the microlight flight is booked.

Still have some major things to do and as I tick things off others get added.

Doesn't make me feel pressured because I am a list writer anyway. I don't feel ready to just settle for what comes along so it is good to plan.

Just want to get some of the more physical things over before DH gets any more decrepit!

It is not something I think about, just muddle merrily through - but I do have an ambition to see the Norther Lights - not likely to be achieved and the world will still keep turning anyway!

Just take life as it comes. If you get chance to do anything that for you is amazing, grab the chance - if you want to. But don't dwell on what you haven't done, or why.

No stress man. Peace and love. Enjoy today. Don't bother about seizing it.

I'm going to America as part of my Bucket List. Haven't really had much in the way of holidays for the past few years and have realised how nice it is planning for something. I've just done Newmarket and Ely Cathedral [Ely being very much on my list]. Next year will hopefully be the 2,000gns and The Derby. I've never been to Lambourn [the home of NH racing] so that's on the list. I want to go to Birmingham to look at all my old haunts, although I've realised that, being Birmingham, most of it has been pulled down. Cornwall, has been calling to me for a while now. Saltair. And Mr Salts House at Wakefield[or is it Worksop?].Thankfully I live very cheaply to pay for all the things I want to do. I think my list included finishing The Mill on the Floss, but life's too short for that.

I close my eyes to bucket lists because I just want to enjoy what I have for as long as I have.

Every bit of fun and achievement is a blessing. Bucket lists are just added pressure.

I've just started to realise what 'bucket lists' are and am in the process of (enthusiastically) seeing how far down my own 'list' I can go. A couple of years ago there was a thread here asking about Bucket List choices, and I'm curious as to how members have succeeded (or not) in attaining their aims? Granny23 Have you got across the sea to Ireland? Gally Chelsea flower show? AlisonMA China? proudnana a day doing nothing? getmehrt - written a novel? harrigran Italy? goldengirl ridden a horse?
As for me? well I was a real fairy a few weeks ago! Another one to strike off the list….
