LE HEAT

I am loving it but I am in the fortunate position to decide whether to go out or stay indoors. Admittedly yesterday when I went to the gym it was rather warm.

Love it but this mad dog stays out of the midday sun!!

What heat are we talking about? I live in Manchester where I have not yet changed from my winter to summer duvet.

It didn't seem all that hot today here [East Midlands] although they said at Wimbledon it was the hotest day of the year thus far. It's when it gets very humid that I struggle and that hasn't been so bad recently. Nonu; I need lots of tips about America in September..what clothes to take etc.

Not been that hot where I live. You lot must all be down south...

I'm down south and it's been pleasant today. Too hot in the middle of the day to actually sit in the sun, but there has been a nice breeze.

Daytime heat I can cope with, but not hot nights.

It was 29C here today, and 28C further south in Bury St. Edmunds. I spent the afternoon and evening sitting in the shade on a blanket with friends and a jug of pimms, watching cricket. Idyllic as long as we didn't move.

I'll have to look at the itinerary . It's that pensioners coach trip thingy that takes you to San Francisco, The Grand Canyon and stuff like that. I'm sort of not thinking about it too much cause I'm scared of flying.

Find a nice gentleman to sit next to, tell him you are scared and ask him to hold your hand.

A friend of mine did that. It didn't come to anything but he grabbed her hand again as they came in to land! I think he was genuinely scared!

Will do [probably with a huge list of daft questions]. Eg do I need insect repellant and are things like sun tan cream expensive over there [they're always very expensive at holiday resorts]. Not sure what to do about money as the exchange rate is very good at the moment but don't want to risk it falling before I get my dollars. I'll compile a list...
