Family photographs - do you display them?

I've got several framed photos of the grandsons, and one each of the two DD's. None of son though. Don't know why. Should remedy that!

And I have a picture of grandsons as a screensaver.

My ex's stepmother put me completely off family photographs, she has photographs everywhere, all head and shoulder shots of her family. She is well travelled but by looking at the photographs you would never believe it, all the photographs from any trip are of her new husband head and shoulders, not even a little of the background to show where it was taken, they cover every wall in the house, even the downstairs loo. I just found it all a bit creepy as in nearly all the ones of the children and GC they are wearing white, she keeps a collection of white T shirts for them to put on when they visit her and just constantly take photos of their faces.

I have 5, 2 of which i havn't actually got round to putting into frames.

I have quite a few framed photos of my parents and PILs when they were young , of DH's GPs when younger, our wedding photo, DDs 1 and 3 weddings, assorted " dead dogs," DH looking very young, a very middle class posed studio portrait of us about 26 years ago and one I especially love of the DDs aged 3,5 and 7. Also one of each of the little men which I change regularly as they do. I like my photos aand I don't know what if anything it says about me!

I have several family photos about the place but more recent photos are kept on the computer and uploaded to several online storage sites. I love editing photos and putting them in "virtual" albums. I have scanned all the old family photos and slides into the computer too. Now that my son and family are overseas I keep the photos they send on my iPad for instant Granny boasting purposes.

I have a few dotted around, mainly of the DGC which I change every now and then.None of parents, grandparents though.I have those in albumns.

Slightly off topic for a change, but DB in Canada remarked that every funeral they went to had a projected slide show afterwards showing deceased and family having fun. So he and SIL now take photos on purpose for that future event. I think it is a bit of a joke, but you never know with brothers do you?

I have a few dotted around , but as I get new school ones from DD , I change them .
I also have a huge sort of clip-board thingie which I attach photos and covers the spectrum of ageing[if you get my drift] just photos taken with our camera

I have a wall in dining room with old photos of my great grandparents, grandparents, parents, our wedding photos and big occasions for our children - I have to admit that there are a few of me and DH in childhood and it is a talking point for all sorts of friends or anyone who is in the dining room. As for the DGC - just 3 - when I get a new one the old one goes into album and as for my own DC same applies.

I just love family photos and long for perhaps a GC to show an interest my own children are very unimpressed. 2 of the GC have shown a vague interest especially when they are doing a project in school that has been WW1 and WW2 and sometimes they are just interested in who are all those people.

Sorry but I must be common. My home is a shrine to my children, grandchildren, a favorite aunt and uncle whom I love dearly. I have just added a photograph of my mother who died in 1977. It's been too painful to have it up before now. Maybe it because most of my family aren't local. They all make me smile. I love them. I'v taken to touching my mothers as I move from the landing in the morning....daft but who cares

I have a gallery of ancestors - GPs and GGPs on the way up the stairs and a random selection of GC and DSs, such as graduation photographs, in the living room.

I have one on my bedside table of my mother walking to the beach in Bridlingten. She looks happy and when I first put it into a frame after she died she was older in the photo than i was. Now I look at a photo of a woman much younger than I am.
Then one photo each of both daughters with their first babies. Lots of photos of the cats I've had and I put one on the wall yesterday, one of my lovely Jasper who died in February and till now I couldn't face looking at pictures of him.
No photos of me but one of MIL as the GCs liked her. I take a lot of photos and always have a recent one of the grandchildren in the kitchen.
I would feel lost without my photos.
I don't think it is common. I just don't have the grandpiano to display them on.
