The same thing used to happen with my box of paper clips when I worked. Overnight, they would become one tangled mass.

They have been threaded with telephone cable. No logic whatsoever to untwining phone cable.

I collect costume jewellery from charity shops and have a number of plastic boxes full of them.

What surprises me is that I place a new necklace or pendant in one of the boxes and when I come to take them out they are all intertwined with the other jewellery. This happens regularly and I just don't know how it happens. hmm
