(1001 Posts)Hello yet again to you lovely lot. The Champagne is ready. Do hope that I shall be welcoming you very soon.
soop what will you do now that Rafa and Andy are baith oot! This probably calls for both a wee snifter AND a Magnum, but maybe not both at the same time.
Just popped in to commiserate about the tennis.
Haven't been able to post as my netbook's charger was broken. We have sorted that out now but DH has just left to return to Portugal and taken it with him to save weight in my case next week.
I have just got an iPad! I'm slowly learning my way around it but I'm finding typing frustratingly slow. I'm not used to a touch screen. However DD1 tells me I WILL enjoy it.
I hope MacSporran is feeling a little better day by day and I'm sending
belated birthday wishes to Bella
Your birthday is the day after my DS's Bella.
Now I'm going to put my feet up. I feel fair worn out with typing all that.
I'm adding my good wishes for you Bellasnana. I thought I had, but maybe clicked the wrong button.
You have the same birthday as my 10-year-old GS but I bet you didn't get a pair of blue hi-tops as a gift! Seriously, here's to a better year for you and yours.
anno sounds like a good plan. Sob! Both my favourites OUT...what is the world coming to? I need a big hug.
dustyangel You seem to be coping very well with your iPad. I'm now using the ancient computer that has ben gathering dust in the attic. It's soooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo slowwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww [yawn]
Sounds as if Novak has either won, or is winning his match.
He's certainly a wonderful athlete. I'm not too sure who it is that I would like to win. I shall give it some serious consideration.
It's time to dice Rory's chicken. He's giving me that special, glassy-eyed stare. No matter how hard I try to ignore him, he's going to get his own way...sooner rather than later
Lots of love to you all.
{{{hugs}}}
(((Hugs))) soop What a funny Wimbledon it's turning out to be. I'm trusting in Roger Federer now - my all-time favourite.
Good man, Roger!
More ((((hugs)))) soop. I'm quite enjoying this match between the two I'd never heard about before - Raonic and Gyrgios - both shooting up the rankings, I'd think.
Hi all. Just popped into the kitchen for a quick catchup. Busy day with DGS today so quite exhausted - where do kids get their energy from? Large box of Magnums in the freezer everyone - help yourselves
Soop I might have missed it but do we know what your secret news was (is) yet?
It's Roger for me, I love him! What a day of changes at Wimbledon, phew!
I think I will give tomorrow afternoon a miss, and catch up on my jobs.
((hugs)) for soop
A lovely sunny good afternoon to my favourite Granspals. We did the Campbeltown shop today, instead of tomorrow. Such excitement can turn a girl's head.
This diversion in our weekly routine will throw me for at least the next three days. Tomorrow will seem like Saturday...etc.
Wimbledon has lost the two men that I most loved. I've always had a soft spot for Federer. I shall now support him. He is the true gentleman of Centre Court.
Thanks for the Magnums. It's comforting to see a whole carton full in the freezer. Crafting I cannot divulge details [or even hints re the surprise] but I promise that you lot will be the first to get the full story.
Back to the ladies semi-finals. I want Kitova to win. Heck! I'm a little late. She's already through.

I just knew I should never have said things might be looking up for my little family; dad being ambulanced to hospital as I speak. Sounds as though his prostate cancer is now causing a full blockage. DD is picking GS up from school, leaving both boys with me then going up to the hospital to be with him. Stepmother has taken to her bed. I feel I can't do this all again.
Dearest Dragonfly1 Oh dear...you are understandably distressed and anxious. I'm truly sorry to hear that your father's condition is worsening. Once in hospital he'll be given the best possible care and more importantly, pain relief. Your daughter is right to want to be by his side. The boys need you to be strong for their sakes. It's a tough task but you are a strong person...you can do it. As for stepmother, I can also understand that she must be feeling deeply depressed. We Granspals can only offer you a listening and sympathetic ear. You are in my thoughts. Please keep in touch with us.
Oh Dragonfly. I'm really sorry to hear about your dear dad. He is in the best place for pain relief and best possible care. Wish there was more I could say or do to comfort you but please remember we are here for support when you need it. My best wishes to you and your family
I hope they help your dad very quickly, Dragonfly, and you have enough stamina to cope. Very distressing for you
My DF also has prostate/bladder cancer so I can empathise Dragonfly. At the weekend my sisters both away, me 11 miles from dad. He fell in his living room at 11.15 ( bedtime) fortunately witnessed by a neighbour. I dread to think what might have happened! DH and IT went to his rescue. Turns out the increased falling was due to a UTI and a course of antibiotics seem to have sorted it. Hope all goes well with your dad. Have a
on me
Good morning to my dear Kitcheners. My thoughts are with you, Dragonfly1 and hildajenniJ I'm pleased to hear that your dad has responded well to his UTI.
There will hopefully be some exciting tennis matches to watch a little later. It is awfully wet in bonnie Kintyre. The flowers are enjoying the steady falling raindrops.
I shall pop into the kitchen again a little later.
My thoughts are with Bellasnana and every one of my Granspals who are experiencing a difficult, anxious, frustrating time.
Dragonfly, it's a relief to know that your dad is responding to treatment. You have more than your fair share of problems, so do look after yourself too.
anno, think it's hilda's dad who's responding well. My poor old dad has needed two bags of blood overnight, and all the hospital will tell me is that he's 'comfortable'. I won't know any more till I visit this evening.
. Thanks for your kind wishes everyone.
Dragonfly1 To know that your dear dad is "comfortable" is a blessing. None of us, no matter how hard we try, can find the right words at such a sad time. Much love.
Hello everyone. I'm popping in rather late with my
in hand to catch up with you all.
I know what you mean about having your routine changed, soop. I don't know where I am this week with having to trot off to the hospital every afternoon. I stay until around 7pm but then need to get back to feed cat and dog, plus take the latter for a walk. He positively squeaks with joy when he sees me come in as he knows it means food and walkies
DH comes home tomorrow which will be wonderful. Then we have to gear ourselves up to him going in again on the 22nd. I'm so proud of the way he has coped. It's pretty boring in there but he keeps his spirits up.
Dragonfly warmest wishes to you and I do hope your dear dad is getting the proper attention he needs.
How is MacS? Has his mystery illness ever been given a name? Do hope he is fully recovered.
hope you all have a good evening
bella dragonfly hugs and
I am just quickly popping in, tail wagging, to tell all about my day yesterday. I retired from my full time job and I can't remember when last I had such a fuss made of me: we had all day celebrations at work. We had a 'valedictory walk' followed by a picnic in the park at lunch time - with a Cuban band playing as a bonus. Then we had afternoon tea and cake (lovingly baked by moi). Then we had speeches and oh my the things people said about me, I was practically levitating with delight at the compliments being heaped upon me. Then we went off to the pub for more celebrations and the young 'uns wouldn't let me go until sufficient selfies had been taken. So last night I was the person on the train with the two big bunches of flowers, sore feet and a happy smile!
My gift from work is a food processor, a luxury I've never owned, always just had a hand held mixer. I'm off to christen it now.
Have a happy day all
- I shall be taking it easy today after all the excitement.
What a lovely send-off for you GK
