Hello yet again to you lovely lot. The Champagne is ready. Do hope that I shall be welcoming you very soon. smile

whenim64 Tue 01-Jul-14 19:34:03

Phew! Well a Pimms isn't going to cut the mustard after that Nadal defeat. Two shots of Redeye and a very large cream cake, to start with. I need to revive myself for the next Wimbledon shock grin

soop, knowing your devotion to Rafa, I assume you are crying into your wee dram at the moment. Sympathy! x x

Agus Tue 01-Jul-14 20:30:24

Best wishes for your DH Bella and Many Happy Returns to you flowers

Lona Tue 01-Jul-14 20:56:42

Bella I'm sorry, I forgot to send birthday wishes to you. I hope you found some pleasure although it must have been the last thing on your mind flowers

Bellasnana Tue 01-Jul-14 21:42:43

Thanks for the kind wishes. Yes, Lona there were lots of lovely cards and messages from friends and family. Gorgeous flowers arrived from DD2 and family, plus Skype calls from my dear sister and both DD's in the US, so much to be thankful for despite the difficult circumstances.

I was a bit disappointed to see Rafa go out (although his rituals are getting to be too much), but you had to admire the young man who beat him. He played amazingly well.

Night night, Granspals moon

Gordon Bennett, I need a quiet sit down and a coffee! How in earth did I ever find time to go to work? Soop, any news yet on MacSporran's results? Bella - special hugs today.

soop Wed 02-Jul-14 12:23:40

Belated birthday wishes to dear Bellasnana. Lots and lots of love and flowers sunshine smile

Rafa is out...oh dear me. It was a blistering match to watch. I somehow knew that the new kid on the block was to be Rafa's undoing [for that match, anyway]...Andy performs this afternoon. If he wins, we get to eat a Magnum dark chocolate ice cream. If he loses...a wee dram will suffice wink

I was very busy yesterday. Did my pal's ironing and finished off her huge collection of silver and brassware. I had shoulder ache when I returned home. MacS continues to make a slow but positive recovery. To see doctor for update on Friday. It's all such a mystery.

My best wishes to all the kitcheners who are having a tough time at the moment.

Galen I just know that the company of Marelli will buck you up. She has that special knack of injecting joy into the most ordinary of moments. It's a gift. x

Galen Wed 02-Jul-14 12:29:27

Soop me and marelli?

I've just made raspberry icecream with homegrown raspberries, so I've brought a carton round.
Enjoy!

granjura Wed 02-Jul-14 13:11:34

So will a Swiss win this afternoon, or a Swiss ;)

Galen Wed 02-Jul-14 13:59:40

Dgd has just asked darling daughter to make a 'tree carriage with strings in it!' confused

Elegran Wed 02-Jul-14 14:02:35

Could you interpret that, Galen? You know the language better than the rest of us?

Gagagran Wed 02-Jul-14 14:06:14

Hot air balloon?

kittylester Wed 02-Jul-14 14:09:30

Swing!

Marelli Wed 02-Jul-14 14:11:08

Soop, what a lovely thing to say smile! Wish Galen was able to be with us next week at Newcastle, as well as yourself, of course. Had lovely day yesterday with Marmight. Sat in her beautiful garden in the scorching hot sunshine having a cuppa and a blether, then wandered along to the pub for lunch. Very nice indeed! sunshine

Agus Wed 02-Jul-14 14:14:39

Go Andy! Everything crossed. Best wishes for McS to make a wee bit bigger recovery.

Best wishes also to all Granspals. flowers

soop Wed 02-Jul-14 14:26:38

Flippin' heck...what is our Andy doing? hmm

Galen Wed 02-Jul-14 14:35:35

I wish I could be at Newcastle as well.
No idea what Merryn meant but darling daughter spent 20 minutes yesterday looking for a requested brown crayon that wasn't a crayon and wasn't brown!
It was a blue stick!

whenim64 Wed 02-Jul-14 14:50:26

My dog's gone in the garden for a sleep. Think my 'flipping 'eck, Andy' being repeated over and over was disturbing her afternoon nap! grin

soop Wed 02-Jul-14 14:56:07

Oh the agony...I was forced to eat my Magnum in order to survive what ever is to come. I fear that Andy may not survive this match. sad

Marmight Wed 02-Jul-14 15:19:20

Can't bear it and am on radio 3 cheering myself up with Barber's Violin Concerto in between having a quick flick back to the match [shriek emoticon]

baubles Wed 02-Jul-14 15:25:49

Best wishes for your DH & for you Bellasnana flowers

annodomini Wed 02-Jul-14 15:28:06

Groaaaan! It's not been a good couple of days for the big players. Cilic is giving Djokovic a run for his money on the other side. I've been turning over when the Murray match has turned my hair just a little more silver. sad

Galen Wed 02-Jul-14 15:30:05

All over.

annodomini Wed 02-Jul-14 15:30:06

I may have to go out and get a Magnum (or Waitrose equivalent) presently. hmm
