Good news, I hope it will get better

I have BPPV saw Dr in March to get an assessment, she forgot to arrange an appointment, so had to push, got a physio appointment late June and she did a maneuvre on me and I was violently sick, had to call for himself to come and take me home, lucky he was in!

It was the physio who pushed for a specialist, and I was eventually seen beginning of Sept.

Specialist said GP's know nothing about this condition, and if I want further help I have to contact her directly, and bypass the tedious waiting system.

Not cured by any means yet, but its a condition I am learning to live with.

I do not live in the countryside, but in a city with many centres of excellence in medicine, as long as you can bypass the GP'S,

Let's hope all will be well and MacSporran can relax and revel in his status of medical phenomenon!

I am so pleased that he had the sense to make the appointment and was seen. The nagging brigade can hang fire for a day or two, but we are not going away permanently until this is sorted.

Thank you thatbags for ringing today. At least that started McS's brain working and then acting.

He has got the medics scratching their heads, hasn't he! I hope this one has scratched to good effect. It's not easy having a mystery ailment. Love to you both x x x x.

Oh, soop I think we should back off and just send cuddles and healthy vibes to you both now. You really have been under some pressure from all sides whilst we have worried with you. Things are sounding more positive now it's being given careful attention. You'll have results back quickly and MacSporran will hopefully be his chipper self again soon

Here I am again. Latest update coming your way.

MacSporran read your messages and went away to consider... when he returned, he said, I'm taking "their advice" he then made an appointment. Doctor was a newish one to the practice. He had all the clothes off MacS and gave him a right royal inspection. I kept quiet. No! Yes really...I can when I need to.

Doctor confirms that MacS has a "mighty nasty infection". Are we surprised? He took the head off one of the lumps and extracted pus which is to be analysed in the lab. Doc cannot identify the problem...he says it isn't Chicken Pox or Shingles. He has stopped the medication that the other doctor prescribed on Monday. That doctor took him off the medication that the hospital had prescribed the previous day. He now has to take Phenoxymethylpenicillin 2x4times daily PLUS Flucloacillin 500mg 1x4 times daily. He has two lots of ointment. If matters worsen he's to return. If the meds do their job he's to be reassessed next week.

Thank you for making your voices heard. The fact that bags called this morning started him thinking positively. I feel better knowing that he has some serious medication on his side.

Good luck with the GP, but I hae m' doubts about some I have encountered.

I think a specialist should be involved.

Does GP have email, then you can send the pix to them for further referral.

Most GPs do but are reluctant to disclose, persist and persevere.

I think soop needs to get the GP on Gransnet now, so s/he can explain why MacSporran is not better yet. Do they know who we ARE?

Oh dear, I have just caught up with this. It sounds horrible and I hope the GP acts....soop have some .

It seems that anyone with any medical knowledge is of one mind and I do hope the soops' GP will agree. I've been out most of the day and came back hoping for news. soop and McS, we all care about you. ((((hugs))))

Been out hunting orchids. When I got back in there was a message from soop asking me to tell you all that MacSp has an appointment with the doc this afternoon at 4. I hope it is productive.

Soop, I do hope that there`s ben some improvement, but if not, GET YOUR MAN TO THE A & E, by force if necessary!

Lyme disease needs urgent treatment!

Charleygirl that is excellent advice, I have no medical qualifications whatsoever, But I have seen and know people who have had Lymes disease. I really do not want to sound as if I am nagging, but....., Just in case, Get the doctor out.

soop I would frog march MacS to the car, screaming and shouting and take him now to the nearest A&E department. You must not wait until Friday unless there is to be a dramatic improvement within a couple of hours, which I doubt. My gut feeling is that he needs to be hospitalised for IV antibiotics and be under the care of the medical team. He does not have shingles and it does not look like chickenpox. As I have said before, I have no past professional experience of Lyme disease.
