*Soop's kitcheners*
(1001 Posts)Hello yet again to you lovely lot. The Champagne is ready. Do hope that I shall be welcoming you very soon.
I need some kitchen love!
Daughter is getting married - soon. And there are last minute hitches with the arrangements.
DIL is full term and the 'baby bump' has become a 'baby mountain'. Due to pop more or less the time of the wedding
.
I'm giving up full time work and little groups in the office go very quiet when I join them and there are whispers of a prolonged leaving do (a lunchtime walk, a picnic, and back to the office for afternoon tea)
.
I'm turning 65 the week before the wedding and husband said "Shall we invite some friends?" to which I replied "Are you mad!?".
AND I've had a funny rash blistering at the base of my spine towards the side (I know!) which is spreading ... took myself off to the doctor today, and it is "sacral nerve shingles".
Wot? Me stressed?! Never.
Actually, I'm like a swan, all calm on the surface ...
to everyone with real problems. I'll just sit here quietly and try not to scratch.
That's normal! Just wait until they ask you to hold the fort and you find yourself holding out your arms for it!
Ps. Mind the camel, it bites!
Come on Angus we're going for a walk. You've had nothing but treats since you've arrived and I need to walk off DH's birthday cake. NO you leave that chicken alone, that's for Rory. He won't be pleased if you eat it.
Come on now, no more whining, we won't go far. Just a quick walk then back to sit by the aga (in this weather!) and relax with a
and chat with whoever pops in.
(I've only been on GN for 2 weeks and look what you kitcheners have done to me!)

Is this a takeover by the male of the species
Dd we are having risotto tonight for supper
DGD otters?
Darling daughter no it's rice
DGD otters swim in pools (with very worried expression)
(((hugs))) Dragonfly enjoy your memories.
anno
Just back from day out in Buxton which was at its very best. Lovely day, lovely lunch too and good friends. So hello to my other good friends in the kitchen and ((((hugs))))to you Dragonfly.
Dragonfly To celebrate your dear daughter's life will be a marvellous up-lifter of spirits.
in abundance.
I'm off to dice Rory's chicken. He's sitting at my feet and has a certain look in his beady eye. I shall return to catch up with all your comings and goings tomorrow afternoon. Ironing for my pal for most of tomorrow morning.
Galen I meant to type be. Although you'll have got my drift.
WOW!!! finnochio Andy through his opening game. Only
and yet umpteen more aces to gasp over.
Galen with a Granspal wish, you can make those tiddly punnets into whoppers. Are you pleased to b home again?
dustyangel for a very brief moment I though you were going to say with your feet up over Angus Yes, I almost always say cheerio. What's not to like about that word. Far better than laters. What's more, I still say hello...hardly ever hi! And never ever hiya.

My darling girl would have been 39 today. My other darling girl and I are going out tonight for a meal to celebrate her life, count our blessings and raise a glass to the happy memories we have of her. I shall bring a bottle of wine back with me and pop it in soop's fridge for you all to share. Well, maybe more than one bottle.... Hugs to you all.
Look soop!

Stroke Angus of course.
I didn't see you there Galen. I hope you had a lovely holiday.
Hello soop, I just popped in to have a quick coffee and stoke our new pet. Isn't he lovely and silky? I planned to spend yesterday with my feet up on your chaise longue, I might even have done a bit of baking, but the internet wouldn't let me in.
Glad to hear that MacSporran is feeling a little better. Here are some
for you both and some more
for those with troubles at the moment.
I don't mind gosh, I think I probably say it myself. I do mind the Cheerio that comes out of my mouth sometimes when I'm saying Goodbye.
Sorry, no. Just a small punnets worth. Loads more to come though (I hope)
Any going spare, Galen? Just asking
Gary, (the gardner) has just bought the first raspberries of the season in.
I shall have them with clotted cream for tea
Gosh! Haven't you lovely Kitcheners been busy-bees. boheminan A huge hug for you. Welcome. I use "gosh" all the time. It's a pleasant exclamation. It's not rude or crude. It is permissible between good friends and strangers alike.
Well now, Rory is most definitely real. He was a tough guy...a very wild and unapproachable feline. He lived in the forest with wifelets and kits. He walked mile upon mile to search for food. How come that he is now reclining on one of many personal rugs on the chaise?
That's a long, long story. He has completed our household. He has won us over in spite of MacSporran stressing in no uncertain terms that "he's not coming into the house" All that was such a long time ago. MacS and Rory are devoted to each other. MacS is very protective of him and has been known to say ^"don't let him go out because it's raining/too cold/ blah blah blah.
Dragonfly specs can be cooel. They will be your grandson's magical eye helpers...
The phone is out of order and will remain so until a man comes to fix it. The laptop is as dead as a Dodo. The boiler packed up last week. Cost an arm and a leg to repair. However, MacS is feeling a little better with each passing day. We should get blood test results before the end of the week. Doctor was intending to phone through with the result. I shall give the surgery my mobile number.
I discovered the prettiest looking wee pale green spider as I was sweeping the floor. Yes! I do sweep the floor. Googled it and discovered that it is known as the Cucumber spider...^Araniella cucurbitina^. It has been taken to the garden and placed gently on a very large leaf.
Wimbledon is about to start. For me, the most wonderful event in the sporting calendar. By the close of the fortnight I shall be hoarse from yelling out loud. Keeps me out of mischief
I wish you all a very pleasant day. I shall return a little later.
Have a good day anno, looks like the weather will be nice and sunny
I'm having lunch in Bramhall with some friends, although I hope to be home in time to see Andy start the ball rolling at Wimbledon.
Hope you and MacS are ok soop?
BTW, soop, how is McS this week? I'm hoping for a good report - as are we all.
Morning all. I'm just off out on a jaunt to Buxton with the writing group - have a
explore, have lunch and explore some more, have a
and catch the train home. Sunscreen duly slathered - the sun is stronger at that higher altitude.
Right Nellie I will do that.
Boh Angus is a virtual pet for us, he is a black and white border collie with a glossy coat and a wall eye.Try not to overfeed him, he is very greedy, and you will sometimes see a black nose and pink tongue just edging over the top of the farmhouse kitchen table as he hoovers up our cake crumbs. He lives in a sheepskin lined basket next to the Aga, and is friendly to the point of daftness.I use gosh all the time by the way, nowt wrong wi' it and the next time we meet for a coffee we can say it to each other.
Numberplease you are a good egg! Also a proper brick.
Thanks to the kind person who left me a pot of home made marmalade[who was it?] when I ran out and was miserable. The orange-y taste was wonderful, but will you make fine cut peel next time please?
Why does Rory get the best chair in the kitchen? I would move him but he's fast asleep [and he's flexing his claws.]I will pop back later on.
Rory, since the snip, is more laid back than my cat Tara and that is saying something. I went out for lumch with a friend yesterday leaving Tara asleep on my bed. She did not move until 4.30pm and that was only because the front door was open, I was talking with a neighbour and she was inquisitive enough to find out where I was. She has an aversion to going out of the catflap and with all of the "staff" off she has to rely on me.
If Angus is a collie, he will need lots of exercise. I am not up to it, are many of you lot?
