Good news that you are feeling slightly better, soop. Keep it up!!! flowers

Icyalittle Thu 24-Apr-14 21:33:47

It's a while since I've visited - soop I am really sorry you are poorly, and I do hope the antibiotics do their good work fast and you feel better soon.

To bellasnana, and others who are living in anxiety and anguish, heartfelt sympathy and flowers flowers flowers.

Oldgreymare Fri 25-Apr-14 08:58:10

Also popping in after Easter visitors.... phew.
Gagagran... loved Both varieties of flapjacks... yum!
Bellasnan one of our Easter visitors has just walked the Cotswold Way, walking up to 13 miles per day. This time last year he was diagnosed with stomach cancer, chemo/op/more chemo, the walk was his recovery goal. He feels really well. I hope your DH is inspired by our friend.....
Soop you've been 'in the wars' again, hope you are now well on the road to recovery.
DS very laid back about the condition, he has the same attitude as you Galen, things could be a lot worse!
Off to see my lovely sister on Sunday (hoping to meet up with Jess too!)

soop Fri 25-Apr-14 11:23:23

A bonnie good morning to my dear Granspals. Reading your messages is such a treat.

MiceElf...if you could have seen my so-called studio yesterday [and all the "rejects"] you would be sighing. I'm battling away. Won't give in. First sketch, when painting commenced, was an utter disgrace...as were those attempts thereafter. When I've finished on the computer, I shall return to a fresh drawing board with renewed optimism. wink

Thank you, Lona, Icyalittle, Oldgreymare for get well messages. The thought of meeting up with bags is a tonic. I coughed away for two hours in the night. It was exhausting and a right bummer.

Bellasnana positive vibes winging their way from Kintyre.

MacSporran has gone into Campbeltown. Dear Rory is sitting in the front porch and patiently waiting for his return. smile

Ana I guess that I need to take a look at your photos! Will do.

soop Fri 25-Apr-14 11:27:33

Ana blush and confused. Am I missing something? May I also add that, as Nonu says, you are a poppet.

POGS Fri 25-Apr-14 11:35:02

Soop

I am still 'lurking' on your thread.

Glad you are feeling a little better, a right bummer as you say.

I use that saying too, where does it come from, do you know? What would a left bummer mean do you think. smile

Nonu Fri 25-Apr-14 11:52:40

SOOP

Ana Fri 25-Apr-14 11:56:35

Sorry, soop, I don't know what you mean about photos! confused

There was a problem with the Active page yesterday and a lot of the threads went missing, so I just thought I'd bump this one up for everyone...smile

Ana Fri 25-Apr-14 11:57:19

PS Thank you both! blush

Bellasnana Fri 25-Apr-14 13:14:34

Hello to you all. Very glad you are on the mend, soop, although sorry you had a bad night. Thank you for the positive vibes and, ogm thanks for the encouraging words about your friend. So glad he has made such a good recovery. Hope my DH will do likewise. He's being brave but is a bit subdued, understandably.

Gorgeous weather here in Malta - not a cloud in the sky and very hot in the sun. Must go and get the washing in or it will be bleached.

Enjoy your day everyone sunshine

Nonu Fri 25-Apr-14 13:29:28

Enjoy yours too Bella, all good wishes to your DH.
smile

Lona Fri 25-Apr-14 13:53:56

Bellasnana Positive thoughts sunshine xx

soop Fri 25-Apr-14 14:29:19

Ana Sorry! I understand now that you've explained. I'm a very simple soul wink

Hello dear POGS where have you been? I've been missing your cheerful comments. Anyway, welcome back. As for the expression "bummer*, I'm not at all sure of it's meaning.

Bellasnana wishing all that's best for your dear husband and sister.

MiceElf...hmm I'm not making any headway. About to try a different approach. Two beautiful cats...why is it that I'm finding it so difficult to do them justice! Have had a marmite sandwich and cup of tea. Ready to tackle the fourth attempt.

I've also a beautiful white curly-haired dog named Bobby to consider.

soop Fri 25-Apr-14 14:30:20

Back to the drawing board...grin

numberplease Fri 25-Apr-14 16:15:08

You`ll triumph in the end Soop, you always do!

numberplease Fri 25-Apr-14 16:15:37

Oh, by the way, have you painted Rory yet?

Charleygirl Fri 25-Apr-14 18:01:46

numberplease I doubt if Rory would pose long enough for soop unless MacSporran was sitting and Rory was perched on his lap.

Bellasnana I do hope that there is some improvement in both your husband and sister. I am jealous of the lovely weather you are having in Malta. It is heavy rain and quite cold here at present.

soop you must rest and eat properly, you do not want another trip to hospital. Perhaps a whisky, purely for medicinal purposes of course, before you go to bed?

Best wishes to all others who are under the weather or have a friend or relative who is.

soop Sat 26-Apr-14 10:35:49

A bonnie good Saturday morning to my lovely Granspals.

Have to dash in a moment...a painting on the go! Don't applaud...it may still be discarded and a [said quietly], number 7 effort, be the one that I can be proud of. Don't tell MiceElf wink

numberplease How are you? flowers

Charleygirl Big Cat is a tortoiseshell and Edith a tabby. Rory couldn't possibly help because he's far too busy doing important things like sleeping. Anyway, as you well know, cats only ever co-operate if it suits them...hmm

I haven't had any formal art training and paint instinctively. It's a fact that one should never paint an animal by using a photograph, which is what I have always needed to do. I also paint in watercolours...a very tricky medium at the best of times. I've a lovely, all-white, curly-haired dog to paint [again from a photograph]. Devil for punishment, me!

So, it's wet-ish outside and slightly murky. The washing machine is humming away. I shall get the vacuum out and tiddle around with a duster. After which, I can honestly say that I've done some housework and may, with a clear conscience, return to you know what. grin

I hope that you all have a peaceful day.

ffinnochio Sat 26-Apr-14 10:51:08

Sounding much better, soop - pleased to hear it. smile

I've been dashing in and out of the garden this morning - it's v. squally and grey. Dashing off out again now.....veg. to sow/plant.

penguinpaperback Sat 26-Apr-14 10:58:23

Edith the Tabby, she sounds wonderful, a no nonsense cat. She always has 'forty winks' at 3pm and has her food in the most delicate bone china saucers.
I so agree with your thoughts on painting instinctively soop, very true.
