I see Kate and Prince William are jetting off to the Maldives on hols and leaving 8 month old Prince George at home.

I'm sure Gransnetters will have varied views on this. wink

Sorry Merlotgran I forgot that we are all expected to bow and scrape at the mere mention of their names, in which case I shall rephrase my comment to "over privileged some bodies" and you are right I don't like them but do quite like being "a bit daft" smile

I stand by my guess that granny and grandpa will have the "foreign nanny" to do all the dirty work.

ceesnan I am not in the habit of squawking and especially not about someone looking after their own child.

How is this any of our business? They don't sell their personal stories to Hello, they don't seek publicity except for the charities they support and their duties as members of the Royal Family. Some people have nannies, some don't. Some grandparents can't wait to get their hands on the DGC, some see enough of them. Seems to me this is a non-story!

But they do sell their news and photos to Hello magazine Lilygran. It seems to me they have already willingly crossed the line into celeb world.

I think Kate has got her head screwed on right tbh. She is looking after her marriage so, hopefully, it won't go the way of other royal marriages. And she is making sure her side of the family get a look in get a chance to build a strong relationship with her child. I can imagine the whole family will be there enjoying George for some of his stay in Bucklebury. smile

nightowl when?

Ana Sun 09-Mar-14 11:07:25

Kate and William have never sold photos or news items to Hello!
The magazine has published photos sold to it by freelance photographers.

There are some people who have such a dislike of the Royal Family that they will go out of their way to find something to criticise. The couple are at fault for not taking the baby - if they had all gone then no doubt there would be cries of " Yet another holiday". You might not like it, but quite frankly, is it any of your business as to how they run their lives?

nightowl Sun 09-Mar-14 12:54:49

Sorry Ana and Lilygran you are right and I apologise to them for my error.

Actually Ceesnan I don't dislike the royal family at all and don't look for things to criticise. I just don't blindly accept that they can do no wrong. I am disappointed that William and Kate (and others for that matter) don't show a bit more sensitivity and stop flaunting their wealth and lives of leisure quite so much. As far as taking their baby on holiday goes, that's up to them. I would have preferred to see them take him but that's just me. I couldn't have left mine at that age.

jinglbellsfrocks Sun 09-Mar-14 13:58:36

I couldn't have left mine to be honest. But, "different strokes for different folks". (Don't think I made that up)

I wonder if they will Skype. Hope not. He would probably howl at the end of it.

It must have been all that sandbag chucking that's worn him out! wink

jinglbellsfrocks Sun 09-Mar-14 14:06:19

Perhaps it's just a cover to put the pirates off the scent. Or is my geography all to pot? Granny M is probably staying on the next island with nursery security entouragewink

ginny Sun 09-Mar-14 16:18:27

ceesnan It may or may not be any of my business but as is often said everyone is entitled to their opinion. *Nightow (12.54.49 )l has said just what I think. They seem to be under the impression that they are just like 'us' when they actually have no clue as to how most people live.

Ceesnan Sun 09-Mar-14 17:04:16

I can't agree that they think they are " just like us". They are perfectly aware that they are in a priviliged position, but the do seem to try and be more human than previous generations of Royals.
