I suggest we end this one, and start with a new title. So that it's easy to find.
Right, I'm off to do just that.

No problem at all Joybloggs I am just a bit busy today. smile

PS Apologies Nellie, just noticed that you had already mentioned having a theme! blush. Didn't mean to hijack your idea, just dived in without studying earlier posts.

Have to go out now, but happy to set up a new thread for this later today... (but no prob if somebody else wants to do it beforehand!). grin

Over to you then Joy smile

I don't own the game Joy, you don't need my permission. Sounds good to me - it will focus the mind and make it harder to think of the next move.

As for being easier for anyone to work out what it is about, I think everyone has grasped it now. There aren't nearly as many puzzled posts as there were at the start. Don't know whether that is good or bad - it was fun starting from the random ones and getting people even more confused.

I have a suggestion for a variation (with Elegran's permission), but I won't cry if you think it's rubbish. We could perhaps have a theme for each round eg Flowers, Music, Books, Holidays etc, and the person who finished a round would choose the theme for the next round. For example if we had a round on the theme of 'Grandchildren' the last poster might write...

'Zits are often a problem for teenage grandchildren, and my choice of theme for the next round is.......'

If we were to play this way I suggest we could start with the theme of 'Food' which seems to be popular with most of us grin cupcake

This variation would make 'the rule' easier to work out for newcomers so maybe for this reason it's a non-starter? But, it would be nice to keep the game going - a good stress-buster on difficult days and easy to dip into as and when one has a few idle moments! Look forward to hearing other suggestions and starting all over again...

I'm not throwing my toys out the pram over it. I was just confused how it happened. grin grin Thanks for the explanation.
I really enjoyed the game. As Nellie said, can we come up with a variation for the next round ??

I was 1 minute 3 seconds behind Ninathenana's first post and 5 seconds after her second one. I was watching tele at the time. Crossed posts there. Let's set it off again but not at this time of night. We could think of other versions. Get a theme going?

DD told me that on Mumsnet (and also on here, I suppose) if you have the thread open on your computer when someone else posts number 1000 it stays open until you have posted yours. She also thought that perhaps you could have two browser windows open on the same computer, post at 1000 on one and then post on the other. It would be tricky to prove that.

Nellie has cleaned up (1, 001 cleans a big, big ...)

Nellie's was the last post of the 1,000 allowed. You'll have to start a 'Daft Games 2' thread, nina smile

ninathenana Wed 05-Mar-14 22:57:26

When I posted "Last but not least" it said 1000 I tried to post again and it said thread closed. Yet Nellie's post is showing???
