Sunshine, the warmth, these are just distant memories for those of us in the UK Bellasnana. More like grey, damp, wet with an occasional glimpse of something we used to call the SUN !! hmm

Bellasnana Mon 03-Mar-14 16:49:03

Hi everyone. Sitting in DD2's garden and have had to move into the shade. The sun is hot. DGD is full of a cold today, poor little girl. It's the third one she has had this winter.

Am appalled to hear how difficult it is for your DH to see a doctor, PRINTMISS. Makes everything much more stressful than it should be. Do hope he will be seen soon.

Hope you all have a good day smile

Sunny, windy weather. Just like March in fact!

Hope you're not still waiting for the doctor to phone Printmiss, and I hope it 's nothing serious with your husband.

Heavy showers. Lovely daffodils everywhere though.

Beautiful day here in Fife, blue sky and sun but very cold; just walked along the coast road, through the golf course, which is lined with snowdrops, crocus and millions of budding daffodils which will soon be picked by volunteers and sold in aid of cancer research. They raise thousands every year. (where has the daffodil emoticon gone??)

AlieOxon Mon 03-Mar-14 10:10:09

Mornin' all.
Was a lovely day to start with, now is raining.....
Had lunch out yesterday with family (daughter J's birthday), really good to be together.
Came back with a car full of things I can't carry, ladder and wheelbarrow - counting on gardener to empty it, but he hasn't so far turned up.

Also acquired a piece of polycarbonate which will be ok to mend my greenhouse roof, and a promise of more from my sister!
Now where is Dave?

Good morning All. Wet here in the far north but bits of blue sky peeping through so maybe the sun will come out. Having a busy time with DGD and xsil staying with us until Tues. Off to visit friend in hospital with broken hip, she is doing very well after pining and plating, which is marvellous considering her age, 85. Supervising sponsored silence tonight with Rainbows and Brownies, I don't rate my DGD chances of being quiet for a whole hour. Go and get that crown fixed Nfkdumpling or it will just pop out when you least expect it. good luck

Lots of wind and rain yesterday and last night but still, bright and sunny here now. Good luck with the dentist Anno. Two fillings? Must have been an excellent flapjack!
I was going to go back today as the temporary front crown (four front teeth - think Dick Emery's vicar) came loose on Saturday. But it hasn't moved since so I'm wimping out. I'm really not good with anything dentistry.

annodomini Mon 03-Mar-14 09:03:49

Blue sky, bright sunshine. Dentist this morning; two fillings were removed by a very sticky flapjack. Serves me right for my gluttony!

It's interesting that others have problems with the charities they volunteer with. Ours has lost the plot entirely. Perhaps there needs to be a new thread for this?

ninathenana Mon 03-Mar-14 08:28:14

Morning all.

That is a shame Brenda It's a lovely day in N.Kent. I'm hoping to put some washing out for the first time this year.
Printmiss I hope all is ok.

kittylester Mon 03-Mar-14 08:27:37

Good morning,all!

Bright and sunny but cold in North Leicestershire this morning!

Sorry to hear about your volunteering Brenda - willl you look for something else? Four of us are in dispute with the charity we volunteer for. Charities are much more like businesses now and we had so many set things to say and do that we felt hamstrung and unable to properly help the people we were meant to be there for!

Enjoy your days, everyone!

Good morning. Here I am back from my weekend trip. What rain we have had again - flooded roads on the way back from the station last night. I didn't notice it forecast ... did I miss it or is this one that slipped past the forecasters

DebnCreme Mon 03-Mar-14 08:22:33

Good morning all. Wet and even wetter near Bristol. Sorry for your problems PRINTMISS and yours too Brenda hope things improve for you both.

PRINTMISS Mon 03-Mar-14 08:11:52

Good morning everyone, that is a pity Brenda, petty beaurocats (spelling?) no doubt, so everyone loses out. We have rain here at the moment, and the other half has decided that he must contact the doctor about a pain in the groin which now has a small lump! Trouble is we phone the doctor and WHEN we get through we have to explain to the receptionist the symptons, she relays them to the doctor, the doctor then phones us back (we wait indoors for that, maybe all day) and he asks us the symptons again and decides whether we are worth an appointment. I have a horrible feeling this happens with other surgeries and the reason so many A&E departments are over-worked. Oh! dear, not a good start to the week, sorry. Enjoy your days everyone.

Brendawymms Mon 03-Mar-14 08:03:55

Raining hard every few minutes in East Sussex. All the holiday laundry is done, pets are back home and I have just paid for my next holiday in 15 weeks. It's not so much the holiday but the cost of travel insurance when you get older that really hurts.
Off to hospice retail shop, aka Charity shop today. This is our last week as we are all leaving in protest at the treatment of our two part time managers. Very sad.

Good morning all, I thought you were having a lie in to Michael smile I am sitting up in bed with a cup of tea in Scotland and thinking about getting up and going down for breakfast. Then we will have a potter around, we are up in Loch Fyne for a few of days.
Not sure what the weather is like as outside the window it's not quite light and its hard to tell if its raining, the trees and bushes look wet but it rained heavy last night.

Good Morning Everyone,
Just a few minutes late, bright and clear here in Brackley,

NanKate Mon 03-Mar-14 07:00:03
