I'm on my Ovaltine, see if it helps but my son tonight has told me that he doesn't want to deal with me anymore with my illnesses and that he has had enough. So he will go to the festival tomorrow (great timing eh?) and then find somewhere else to live until uni starts in September. Meanwhile I can then get in contact with SS and see if I can get any help with what I need. I can't get into the kitchen to make a cup of tea now most days, I just have my jug of water all day and sometimes that is from the night before so drinking stale warm water for an hour or two until I can manage to get into the kitchen. Saying that, I don't know if I would be allowed help with my son here from SS but he can be abusive so maybe it is better that we live apart now anyway. God, life is so bloody awful sometimes, for all of us.

Set the alarm for 4.30 as we are off to the JR in Oxford by 6. It was a pig of an evening yesterday with almighty thunderstorms and torrential rain so I had to wait until it eased a bit to walk Grace before bedtime. You know how when you have to be up early you wake up at intervals all night? 1.30, 2.30, 3.30, I was almost glad when the next one was 4.27 so I could clobber the alarm! DH had an even worse night having been poorly all week and had 2 units of blood yesterday. I do feel for him, we are both anxious and my fear is that after the assessment they will say he is not well enough for the procedure (Left Atrial Appendage Occlusion) and reschedule.

Rubylady what an absolutely awful time you are having, especially with the way your son is treating you. Have you thought of phoning Age Concern or whatever their name is now and asking what help there is available, such as someone bringing in some bottled water for you to keep nearby. There are people called befrienders who will visit. Age Concern yet again might know if there are any in your area.

Hope your friends on GN can keep your spirits up and if course your little dog.

Alea hope all goes well at the JR today for your DH.

Yesterday the steroids had the affect of making me sob for ages, today I expect I will be hyper. Oh for those carefree days when we had no health worries.

Thanks NanKate. I can't blame my son really, he has looked after me for ages now and probably wants to feel like a normal teenager. He has had problems with depression too these last few years. Plus this blooming menopause. Anyway, he went, quite happily, I've just got a "new to me" mobility scooter delivered and my neighbour has helped throw out a lumbering two seater settee I didn't need any more. Maybe getting some help in now to clean a bit will make us both feel better and the sleep problems even out a bit. Thanks for the heads up on Age UK, I might do that. It's not too long since I was putting myself forward for being a befriender myself.

I am managing to stay in bed through the night. Oncology nurses say I need special cream for sore feet, been to collect it this afternoon. I was told if you don't treat promptly you can be left with permanent nerve damage. I got told. Off for getting sunburnt too, factor 50 every time I leave the house now.

Good, harrigran at least now your skin is going to be better protected. Yeah, better day, although in pain and tired. On ebay though to buy some bits of furniture to shake things up a bit. Brought from old house and put up with til now. Plus very happy about mobility scooter, get me back on my wheels, if not my feet!

The cream, the hospital gave me, is working already. My feet are less sore even though I have started another cycle of chemo. I am thinking of going out for lunch tomorrow, enough of lying round the house

It has been another of those nights for me no idea why. . . am thoroughly fed up now. Have come downstairs with pillow and fleece hoping to catch an hour before the day begins.
I know I shall feel wretched all day. Will work at DDs for a hour then go to keep fit. Probably grab a snooze then as it's choir tonight which I love but not when I'm so tired. Am always on a high after choir and a half hour drive home so will not get to sleep easily tonight in any event. . . . And so it goes on. . . .

Morning Newquay sorry you can't sleep I appear to be in the same boat, no apparent reason.

Yes I pushed a note through all neighbour's doors asking if anyone was interested and, if so, just to turn out on the road (here's a flat bit in the middle, well away from junctions) with chair and table, dress in red white and blue if you want to and wear a label with your name and house number. I gave my phone number and email address.
Have heard from a fair number who will be delighted to come?
Some can't come for different reasons so all we need now is for it to stay dry!
I've bought some edible Union jacks to top some (bought!) fairy cakes and some cheap bunting from good old Poundland.

A few folks have stated their anti monarchy view but I didn't mention Queen's birthday deliberately and said it's just an opportunity to get together. Wonder if we'll all end up rolling round fighting what with Republican/Monarchists and don't let's mention the referendum! Lol!

Wouldn't it be great if we could just go to bed and do a sleep catch up for a few hours and than that was it. Feel better, more energy etc. But unfortunately it doesn't work like that. I've still had a sleep in the chair yesterday and today but still feel shattered and my feet are really swollen, regardless of my water tablets, which make them very sore and tender. Even if I go to bed in the afternoon for a sleep, I still feel shattered. Still, I have only been on these iron tablets for two weeks now so I should have more patience for them to get into my system and make some good new blood cells to give me more energy. It's like being a battery on quick drain. Oh well, stop moaning ruby.

Plus I've got tooth ache! All my lower left jaw is painful. Dentist next week.

Guided meditation works for me. Just go on 'you tube guided meditations' and take your pick. Plug in ear buds and tuck iPad out of sight and DH is not disturbed and I am away in deep restful sleep. If I wake again, I choose a different meditation. Some last a few minutes to up to 8 hours. Or if you dont like 'guided' choose from nature ie thunder storms, waves crashing, bird song. Hope it helps someone else too.

thanks Grannyflower I've had a look at your u tube suggestion and will try it tonight. I've just popped in to say my d.i.l treatment for her bones is going well and she doesn't need an operation and her pain should get better, though not cured. I've seen my g.p and she was lovely and most importantly listened to me. She agreed that it's either musclier or perhaps scar tissue/ adhesions and my anxiety and upset are normal in the current circumstances. She did say I should think about anti depressants. But for now has given me a mild sedative to take if things get really bad and a strong painkiller in case the I need it on holiday. She did say somthing interesting though. She told me that just knowing that I've got this medication to hand will help and I may not ever take it. She also told me that she would tell her receptionists that they should fit me if I needed to see her quickly. We talked about taking time off work but realised that the routine of going was important for now. She talked to me about the outcome of my DiL condition and said the young, strong and determined often defy expectations. She was careful not to give me any false hope. All in all just seeing her and knowing she's there in the background if I become completely overwhelmed is so reassuring. Sorry this post is all about me. I just wanted to share somthing positive. Oh Harrigran I hope your treatment is going well too. rubylady you too are having such a hard time. Hold on tight in the hope that things will improve. Thanks to you all who have listened to all my woes and gave such kind and positive reassurance.

I've thought of these sounds but if I had rain or waves I'd be in and out of the bathroom all night!

Just when I thought it was safe to go back in the water. . . the son rings and asks for me to drive ALL the way to Donington to pick him up as he is not happy being at the festival. Too many home comforts, me thinks. So, there goes my planned weekend of take away and binge dvd's. Had a good day today although shattered so tried to rest. But furniture came and I have just finished putting it together as it takes time. Very nice. Hope you are all in Noddy land.

I am still here. Been a good day today, side effects of chemo minimal. The foot cream is working and I can walk about again. Need to get some sleep soon as GC are coming at lunchtime.

Aw, harrigran it sounds like you have had a better day today, which is nice to know. I am glad that you are not suffering with your feet, painful feet, painful all over I think. I hope you are now sleeping and then you will enjoy your time with your lovely GC. You've made me feel a bit better knowing you feel a bit better.

I don't feel as shattered as this morning. I had some porridge (wonder food) and then had a long sleep this afternoon and after tea, now feel a bit better. Good food, plenty of sleep and great friends on here, that will get me better, oh, and the pills!

Struggling through this night. No sleep yet! Am in England minding DGD2 while parents are away and know she will be up bright and early at 7am

Problem stuff on my mind escalated earlier this evening. Then DH collapsed and taken by ambulance to hospital. It would happen when I am hundreds of miles away and no available flights home! Luckily he was with DD3 who has sorted everything out. He was discharged a few hours ago with no diagnosis (no beds) but feeling a bit better and is staying with DD tonight.

How to get home now? Not able to travel until little one's parents are home this afternoon.

The birds are starting to sing. I'll have another go at getting a doze.

I really hope none of you are awake!!
