Can't sleep - won't sleep - anyone else awake?

boheminan Sun 03-Apr-16 23:14:09

The night is young! so for all us insomniacs...here's the thread that could keep us chatting through the wee small hoursmoon

boheminan Sun 03-Apr-16 23:40:17

11.40pm, and all's well - very quiet. I'm going to try out an antihistamine along with my cocoa tonight, perhaps will get some shut eye for a while but then again, I may well be up and about, wide awake any time from 2.00am onwards. Everyone else can carry on partying without megrinmoon

harrigran Mon 04-Apr-16 00:23:55

I am still up and about, pain in hip makes it difficult to get comfortable.

boheminan Mon 04-Apr-16 07:45:10

harrigran - Hope you managed to nod off eventually? being kept awake at night through pain must be even more wearying than just 'not being able to sleep'. I think the antihistamine helped me sail off, though I just woke up at a silly time (6.00ish) instead, which will mean my day will totally disorientate mehmm

boheminan Mon 04-Apr-16 21:37:00

bump

harrigran Mon 04-Apr-16 22:35:46

Leg pain bad again tonight, can't take anything for it until I see chemo nurse tomorrow. DH doesn't like me getting out of bed because he thinks I will get chilled sitting.

rubylady Mon 04-Apr-16 23:26:25

I'm still up harrigran. Is there any other ways to relieve the pain? Warmth? I have a wheat bag which warms in microwave which helps with pain sometimes and I have a vibrating/heat pad which I use every day for my back. Can you wrap up in a blanket to keep the chill out? x

Nana3 Mon 04-Apr-16 23:39:37

I'm awake and will be for ages yet. The joys of one's own room, will watch something on iplayer or catch up with woman's hour.
Sorry about your leg pain harrigran

rubylady Mon 04-Apr-16 23:44:00

I'm waiting to check my bank, see if my delightful ex has paid his dues.

Nana3 Mon 04-Apr-16 23:50:55

Good luck ruby
Just had a laugh at the naturist thread.

rubylady Tue 05-Apr-16 00:20:25

I'm that mithered with everything that I've just realised I've not took my morning tablets from this morning (Monday) yet. Plus my water tablet so my feet are like balloons. hmm

Nana3 Tue 05-Apr-16 00:42:36

You need a box with days of the week on to keep your pills in confused. Will you take them now?
Just watched Doctors, enjoyed it.
My feet are like ice, have put socks on.

Envious Tue 05-Apr-16 00:58:52

Is anyone here? I don't know how to read the time on here...maybe after I post I can figure out how long ago Nana3 posted.

Envious Tue 05-Apr-16 01:00:14

14 minutes ago? That's not too long. smile

Nana3 Tue 05-Apr-16 01:02:27

Yes I'm here and ruby she's having a tablet crisis.
The time is after the date.

Cherrytree59 Tue 05-Apr-16 01:05:24

Oh dear rubylady. Can you put your feet up on some pillows or cushions.
Perhaps you will sleep better tomorrow night.
I was so exhausted after dads funeral that I went out like a light. I had been running on adrenalin.
Tonight my mind is in overdrive
I'm going to go to bed now and run through the alphabet for different classes eg all fruit beginning with letter A then B until I get to Z
I then start process again with for example -makes of cars.
After that there's always counting
Eg adding together numbers in the date of peoples birth. .
Or counting backwards
It will hopefully bore me to sleep before the birds start the dawn chorussmile

Nana3 Tue 05-Apr-16 01:17:31

Hope you're okay ruby.
I'm going to do the alphabet thing.
Night.

rubylady Tue 05-Apr-16 01:25:42

Yeah, I'm fine. Hungry though now so might just get some supper and then try to sleep although just had my water tablet so might need a long jimmy riddle first. grin

Kittye Tue 05-Apr-16 04:00:13

I wake up most nights ( mornings?) about 2. Bit later this morn, about 3.30. Will have a cuppa decaf tea and a painkiller and then back to bed to do the alphabet thingy, I've done that little game for years, sometimes it works sometimes it doesn't! My GC love the game. It doesn't help using iPad either, but I'll come on GN
to see what's occurring ( as Nessa would saygrin )

boheminan Tue 05-Apr-16 08:04:47

Good day!

I went to sleep with my light on, a book on my chest and glasses half way down my nose - and woke at 6.00am with a rotten aching neck! Well, there was a Wee Break at about 4.00am, but I actually went back to sleep (reading). I'm seriously thinking of getting a guzzunder - does anyone still use them? (apart from babies/toddlers). I will try to remember to bump thread later, so it doesn't fall off the end of the page..

Marelli Tue 05-Apr-16 08:13:15

Was awake again at 3 - can never get back to sleep after loo visit if OH's snoring is bad. Couldn't get back to sleep but must've nodded off about 5'ish.
A guzzunder may be a good idea, boheminan, but my dodgy knees could make it a bit of an unpleasant outcome! blushgrin

rubylady Wed 06-Apr-16 02:12:33

Anyone up? x

grannylyn65 Wed 06-Apr-16 05:04:01

yes ?

tiredoldwoman Wed 06-Apr-16 05:08:18

I'm up and breakfasting ! Usual routine then off to work at 6.20 . Hi ho Hi ho .
I like Wednesdays , it's half way through the working week !

Liz46 Wed 06-Apr-16 07:06:34

I have just slept for eight and a half hours! This hasn't happened for donkeys years. I was exhausted last night so my OH volunteered to sleep in the spare room as his snoring disturbs me.

I had done two weeks of jury duty, finishing last Friday, spent a busy weekend at my daughter's and then had an active but happy birthday on Monday.
