My neighbours' overgrown house

The tree is down to about 10', and they are taking the triffid away on a trailer. Just about dark now.
I was worried they would drop the tree on my shed! I will check out there when I can see.

sun - Next door neighbour the other way told me they went shopping this morning which may have been why the workmen didn't come?
They went and returned in a taxi with bags and work resumed just after.

anno I did go out this afternoon but the work went on for longer....

Shed is almost ok.
Men came this morning about 9 with the triffid and went away with it about 1pm, raining hard and they aren't back, I have been with my neighbour to Tesco's - so I hope no more this week.

I really didn't expect this to be so stressful.......

Alie I find when relief comes after a period of prolonged stress instead of euphoria, which you think you ought to feel, the only feeling is of being absolutely drained.

Nothing will be happening over the weekend, which will give you a break. Given how horrible the weather is I would draw the curtains, light/switch on a fire and sit with your feet up and or and

FlicketyB Yes I know what you mean! You can keep going on adrenaline & stress and when the crisis ends even if the outcome is good the exhaustion sets in.

FlicketyB and Nelliemoser are absolutely right. I imagine the temptation is to keep checking out of the window but you would be better to shut the curtains, light a candle or two and immerse yourself in a good book or a DVD and try to restore your own peace of mind

I have a friend with the same problem, just hope she never needs to move house, as buyers wouldn't look at her house with the state of next door.saw a tv programme last year, looking at the work done on similar houses, one garden had about 7 different vans and cars completely buried in the long weeds and overgrown shrubs, unbelievable!

This only had one, which is still there - hoping it goes too!
I am very glad the largest tree is gone, for several years I have worried about it falling.

I did have my house valued but they said it would be very difficult to sell. But next door is now revealed and looking pretty decrepit.....

Hi folks. No workmen her today yet. Have been trying to have a bonfire but I think the wood is wet still...

Any wood anywhere is sodden at the moment. It tipped down on Friday night

I posted that as I thought the thing would go out - but it decided to burn after all - maybe it got drier - and went on until about 4pm, getting rid of a whole lot of branches.
I haven't dared have one for three years because I thought next door was a serious fire risk......!

No workman yet....now again I don't know what's happening.

Ha-ha! I remember this one from ages ago.
So far they have only bashed the end of my shed roof and the batten is off...and fractured a (very old) panel we put up in a gap in the hedge....

I will have to buy fence panels.
The dead car is still in the front garden.

They weren't very noisy. They cleared up for about three hours and then cleared off. Have they finished? Watch this space.....
