I thought that we had already reached the 1000 messages. Maybe we haven't. Anyway...for when we do, here's the new extension. I'm making it warm and cosy and there are date slices to be enjoyed. Rory has claimed his corner of the sofa. wink

A way to a man's heart is through his stomach and that includes Rory.

Check out www.temarikai.com, those who want to know what they are.

Nonu Mon 23-Dec-13 18:36:14

soop I love your posts about that moggy. tchsmile

Keep warm and try to build up your appetite. (bossy boots - soz)

Gagagran Mon 23-Dec-13 19:11:19

Absolutely lovely bags! You are very clever finding - and making the temarikai. I'd never heard of them but I did used to make a ball out of rubber bands when I was working and once inherited quite a large and colourful one from a post room friend who was retiring! Does that count?

Smoked salmon replenished and in the fridge soop plus a wee bit of chicken for Rory. tchsmile

Nelliemoser Mon 23-Dec-13 19:14:51

Soop You really have done a miracle with Rory to get him snuggling into bed with you both. grin

thatbags Mon 23-Dec-13 20:01:21

gaga, of course an elastic band ball counts! It's the thought... wink

Please be clear, temarikai is not my site, but that of really clever

LizG Mon 23-Dec-13 20:03:04

They all seemed to enjoy the mulled cider and OH said it was very good. Personally I thought it was like cough mixture but then I am not keen on mulled anything. Decided not to force you to finish it off as it didn't seem fair tchsmile

Icyalittle Mon 23-Dec-13 22:01:22

Those tamari balls are amazing - and presumably not breakable for both moggies and small grandchildren? I want to know more.
soop my sloe gin could do with another month really. Can I tempt you with a taste of my mulberry vodka instead? Or I have the last bottle of damson gin we made for favours for DDs wedding 2 years ago. It's really good now. How are you feeling? And McSporran?

Just popped in for a medicinal glug of something in the quiet of the Kitchen while you are all sleeping. Will sit and read through all your recent posts while taking time out from a shrieking daughter, 6 gc's, a hungover (very) son in law and 2 teenage step grandsons. Other DD and her husband have taken off for 24 hours and left me to it - I think a recovery holiday on my return to the UK will definitely be on the cards. shock
It is Christmas Eve here, and true to form, no food has been ordered, never mind delivered, presents still have to be bought and the tree which was put up 2 weeks ago is looking decidedly droopy, the temperature having been low 30's all week. As it's almost The Day, the weather has turned and today is now a decidedly chilly and breezy 20 degrees. But, I must not grumble when reading of the atrocious weather you are all suffering. I hope every one is coping with the storm's after effects and you all have a very happy and merry Christmas Day and special greetings to dear soop and McSporran

Lona dear, I shall pull out the chaise longue [said in an upper-crust voice] especially for you. The Highland tartan blanket has been washed and aired. Doze away.
jingle I won't mention that you refer to Rory as a mere moggy...he's awfully sensitive. He has ideas well above his station. tchwink
Icy ok...I'll settle for a treble mulberry vodka instead. After all, it is the season of good cheer. Getting better. Stuffing knocked out of me. In good spirits. McSporran lovely as ever.
Gally I love your wacky sense of humour. You are a star. Awfully blustery in Kintyre. Ferry cancelled. Huge sea. Dramatic to view through the window. Try to have fun. You deserve it. smile [tchwine] sunshine

A Merry Christmas to everyone, especially all those who have traveeled to Edinbugh to meet up (or Aberdour for some)

And a special Christmas wish for dear Soop, that all the ill-health and troubles will be gone with the end of 2013, and that 2014 will bring health, wealth and happiness.

NfkDumpling Tue 24-Dec-13 12:36:35

Just popped in to wish everyone a lovely Christmas and leave this bottle of blackberry brandy. It's over a year old now (I secreted a couple of bottles at the back of our wine cupboard - aka pantry) so may seem a bit syrupy - but it slides down a treat and warms the cockles of your heart. We're off to DD2 - the first time we've been Christmas cooked for - DH is getting quite emotional about it.

Have a good one. wine tchsmile

ffinnochio Tue 24-Dec-13 12:43:44

Very warm wishes to all for a calm and contented Christmas. I really hope I'll be able to meet some of you next year. flowers

whenim64 Tue 24-Dec-13 13:00:10

Warm wishes from me, too. Have a lovely, peaceful Christmas, everyone. I'll see some of you on here tomorrow when it starts to quieten down and my family have left. Six adults, five children for Christmas dinner. Mayhem, but I'm lucky. tchsmile

AlieOxon Tue 24-Dec-13 13:15:19

Lona Tue 24-Dec-13 13:28:45

Happy good wishes to all my friends on here, I hope we all have merry moments, especially dear soop and McSporran of course, not to forget Rory!
Lots of us have had ups and downs this year, but wonderful Gransnetters have got us through tchsmile

Tegan Tue 24-Dec-13 13:42:45

Yes; Happy Christmas everyone! Trouble is I [like, me that hates housework] is itching to do some Spring Cleaning.

soop Tue 24-Dec-13 13:42:57

I second that, Lona...2013 was a good year for introducing new Granspals. Thank you and my warmest good wishes to each and every one of you lovely lot. No doubt we shall pop in and out of the kitchen during the next few days. I am leaving a huge bowl of mulled wine and a few special bite-size nibbles from M&S.

Take good care of yourselves. Keep safe and keep warm. tchsmile

Gagagran Tue 24-Dec-13 13:57:28

Tiny Tim comes to mind "God bless us - every one". Good health and good cheer to us all and A Very Happy Christmas!

Thank you for your gracious hospitality soop and McSporran and a special stroke or two for Rory. winewinewinewinewine

Happy Christmas to all you lovely Gransnetters and your families.

Phoenix did a thank you thread but I'd like to add my thanks to each and every person who posts GN for offering so much love, fun, support and even the occasional bit of awkwardness to the rest of us. We are great - long may it last. wine
