Soops kitchen extension 2

Soop we live In East Renfrewshire. Last week we decided to take a jaunt up North actually visiting Kintyre and various other stops along the way but we always like to finish up at the George especially for the food and ambience and a visit to The Green Door as we make our way home. Last stop is usually Loch Fyne Oysters for fresh seafood to take home.

The next time you are both in Inverary I would recommend sampling the homemade carrot cake from The Green Door. As you may have noticed, our trips tend to be quite food orientated.

I have just popped in with a bottle of Chateau Moutin Soutra sloe gin after our mammoth bottling and labelling session recently. As DH does not drink somebody had to be responsible for quality control Hope it hits the spot!

And...... it is so easy, after one has been poorly, to think, yes I am better now, I have to catch up on jobs, and things, that might not of been done, but it doesn't matter, as long as you and Mr soop are together, That is all that matters.

Mr. S may have lost a wedding ring but I have lost a duvet, double bed sized covered in a white embroidered cover, last used when we had visitors and needed again for No2 son and DIL.......
DUH (tchblush]

That's quite an achievement OGM.

It sounds as if your duvet is in the same place as my red fleece cardigan which I still have not found. I wish you better luck in your search than I have had !

Soop - it is so good to have you back in your kitchen. I have made the porridge for your breakfasts. What would you like on it ? What about some of the honey comb a friend brought yesterday?

tiggy may I share some of that porridge? It sounds delicious. Check the top cupboard in the spare room OGM. As for the ring soop my OH found his ring in a bag of peat but somehow I can't imagine Mr Soop was doing gardening whilst you were so poorly.

I agree! I have lost the other duvet covers for the spare room, which I need because the others are in the wash. Well, they haven't quite got there yet...

Trying to pluck up the courage to ask at the Dry Cleaners whether my duvet is in their huge pile of unclaimed duvets.

They might take pity and give you another unclaimed one.

At lerast you have got round to the sorting bedding out job. More than I have.

I have "lost" such things as bedding as well. One sheet from a matching pair I now think must have gone by a mistake to a charity shop or recycling.

Hello ladies, McSporran [Mr Soop] transmitting. Am about to pop out to the shop with Mrs S for some toddies, which we will bring back, warm up, and ring a loud bell. So, put on your glad rags, or your more comfortable ones, and we'll all settle down in the kitchen for a pre Christmas appetiser. Watch this space.

Don't get me started on missing bedding. The duvet cover or sheets I want always seem to be at the other home which involves a four and a half hour round trip so I usually end up popping into town and buying new.

mcSporran are you going to get your own name then? I think you ought to.
You can give us the 'alternate' version of Soops kitchen! or even perhaps McSporrans shed?

Nellie moser I "lost 2 pillowcases which matched duvet still Kept duvet not sure what became of them like you may thrown or charity shop by mistake!

Hello Granspals, Mr S is busy in the loft. He's rootling through the baubles and stuff in order to dress our twigs with little lights. He will emerge in due course. He has a twinkle in his eye. Bless! and a fondness for his newly acquired "harem"

He believes that his wedding ring may have come off and was disposed of inside a paper towel when drying his hands in hospital. If that's so, it will have been incinerated or dumped. I keep trying to talk to someone in the "lost property" office in the hospital. So far, no response.

tiggy I always have a third of a banana and a handful of nuts on my porridge but the honeycomb sounds very tempting.

Although I must leave you to enjoy a relaxing time in the warmth of the kitchen, I promise that, later this afternoon, I shall coax McSporran to drop by and share a hot toddy or two with you.

In the meantime, may I ask jings to keep the water boiling for the [tchbrew]. Anyone in need of a warm tartan rug...there are a few spare in the airing cupboard.

My lovely thoughtful DDiL has said that I need not bother with the pillows or duvets on the spare beds for their Christmas stay - they will bring their own to save my washing! What a kind girl she is. (I have gratefully accepted)

McSporran and Soop I have left some smoked salmon, lemon and black pepper in the kitchen and a freshly made brown loaf. I thought a wee sandwich might go down well with the toddies?

We're back now, McSporran and Soop. The wine is mulled and the toddies are hot. My word, it is cosy in here, isn't it. I may just have to register my own wee chair in a corner somewhere out of the way, where I can listen, and drop in the occasional nugget of irrelevance. Some things look familiar - is that my charcoal grey sweater over there? Its alright Dearly Beloved, I said we could share it. That smoked salmon looks delicious Gagagran, might I have some please...Chateau Mouton sound unusual Soutra, but am I confusing it with something that has three legs and runs around the fields? [The fourth leg could be the one that is in our freezer until next week!]...

Is Rory allowed some smoked salmon? I would hate to think that cat is deprived.

I agree, McSporran's shed sounds the ideal place for Mcsporran and his harem. He must have quite a following by now. I will drop in I think for some of the homemade bread and smoked salmon. I will make myself a cup of coffee as I will be driving.
