I wonder where she was when he went up to the box? He said he could hear her squeaking as he was getting back down. Good job he went back

She seemed to be sitting separately from his other friends/family. Someone had to remind him to go back.

She had moved to the back of the box for some reason. I don't think he forgot her but he was eager to get back to the court. Maybe she just didn't want to push herself forward. Thankfully others ensured she didn't miss out on a well deserved hug.

From an opposite point of view I was upset years ago when my ex husband got his degree and invited his mum and dad but not me [even though we were living together at the time and I'd been up night after night typing it all up for him on an ancient typewriter [along with going out to work to pay for his studies ]. As you can see it still bothers me 40 years later!

Judy has never been so controlling as some tennis parents - the Williams sisters' dad, Sharapova's dad, Bartoli's dad.... But she has always been there to cheer him on. She's also been coach to other players and is now captain of the British Federation Cup team.

She can now go back to being the alien mum in the Argos advert!

I don't think he forgot his Mum, she was not sitting in the players box as she usually does. I don't think he knew where she was sitting, she was with the Davis Cup Captain. Coz as Anno said she is the womens Fed Cup Captain. I don't think public displays of affection are top of that family list!! Hmm I did wonder! Everyone else had got their hug and surely his Mum was the prime mover all those years ago. She'd have been happy whatever though. Proud Mum moment!

He was knackered, hot, dehydrated and stunned. An official had sent him off to hug people (photo ops). She probably had been to the loo.

Yes he was all over the place and probably didn't know what day it was but when Sue Barker interviewed him
she said 'you forgot your mum' and he said 'yes I did'. As I said it's my left out mum syndrome rearing it's ugly head again. No one else probably noticed !

Y'know what. Whatever the press makes of it, the majority of people in this country are rejoicing that a young man that wept openly before us last year has come back and won. It's the press that keeps going on about the 'British Win; not Joe public. I don't actually know where Fred Perry originated from but no ones going on about the fact that Scotland have never won Wimbledon before. There may be plenty of yobbish football fans out there but, when it comes to sport in general we are very fair in our amiration for great players whatever their nationality.

Fred Perry came from Stockport - its most only famous native. The new Social Services building beside the Town Hall is named 'Fred Perry House'.
