recently saw Lincoln at the cinema and this sent me searching for more information and re-discovering what a remarkable man he was. Apparently, the most quoted president of the US. So here is one of my favourites. What quotes have inspired you.

Letter to Isham Reavis, November 5, 1855

"This too will pass."

Four words that help to give a sense of perspective and help one to make the most of what is good and be stoical about what is bad.

This saying was not said by anyone "famous" just by my Mum to us on a daily basis!

It's not what you say that matters, it's what you do.

In my opinion it matters much what you say but probably matters more what you do smile

I concur on the 'Do as you would be done by'.
I also used to have a 'Think ahead' poster where the lettering starts off too big and gradually tails off at the end of the line and continues down the edge. Definitely my policy for a comfortable life.

We all know life can be challenging, stressful and sometimes, downright unfair. I once read,

"You can't change the way the wind blows but you can change the way you set your sails."

My mantra when things are 'difficult'!

I think it was Lincoln who was attributed with the comment, "God must love ordinary people - he made so many of them!"

Class
The lower classes of men, though they do not think it worth while to record what they perceive, nevertheless perceive everything that is worth noting; the difference between them and a man of learning often consists in nothing more than the latter's facility for expression.
