A new what-I-did-today thread

Thanks, all. Pity they can't have snow every weekend! No - just kidding!

Back to blue, Anno Lovely pics of the young lads.

Lovely pic Anno

Amazing what a spot of snow does to them!

Lovely! Grins from ear to ear. Thanks, anno

I've uploaded a picture of two happy GSs sledging which made me smile.

Too small for badger, then.

Much smaller than the hole in our garden, then.

Have filled it in [and put a tyre over it now] but I reckon it was about 3 inches. Have also realised that, as there was a mound of soil on my side of the fence it was digging it's way out? Mind you, the soil looks a bit like a molehill. Maybe if it's really wet everywhere a mole might head for somewhere a bit dryer such as my dog pen. Will ask the neighbour tomorrow what's happening on her side of the fence.

I'd say a badger, too. We have one that comes in our garden most nights and he has scraped a shallow-ish hole - hadn't thought of it being somewhere to have a nap, thanks Elegran.

Or even translate them.

By "not all that big" Tegan how big do you mean it is? Preferably in inches, I have to translare cm.

I thought about it being a fox but the hole isn't all that big. the ground is very firm though so the animal must be quite strong. I think I'll stop putting food in the compost bin because that is probably encouraging whatever it is. It's most likely rats I'd imagine.

Fox? Badger? They both like to make a den under a shed or similar, not necessarily to live in. Badgers dig a cosy place to take a short nap without going all the way home, and come back to it again.

Found even bigger hole dug in dog pen; this time not under compost bin but under the fence. Neighbour has pointed out that 'something big' is digging there . Had decided that it must be rats digging into the compost bin but why dig under a fence into the neighbours garden [why not just walk there?]. Can't put traps/poison down because of my dog and the neighbours cat, not to mention the local bird population. Wondering if the chickens are making it worse? Also might put some sand or salt down so I can see what pawmarks are there.

Ah is that what is happening.
Put dough mix into the bread maker. put oven on. beeper goes off 45 minutes later. Peer into bread maker. Humph. Forgot to put the water in. had a feeling I'd forgotten something. Not going to be an early dinner tonight then.

Ariadne Another boobytrap is (are?) the sites that only let you try three variations before they freeze your account, but they don't tell you they are doing it You could spend from now until kingdom come trying different passwords and thinking you must be a right idiot.

As usual, I was having a late afternoon nap and woke up to find myself watching a programme about the big freeze of 1963 - black and white, presented by Cliff Michelmore and the old Tonight team. Ah, I remember it well... Can feel nostalgic now, but oh it was sooo cold for weeks and weeks and weeks!

You'll get used to it *Gally, it' s a disease called iPad finger, your going along nicely, and suddenly gibberish appears before you!

Oops - 'mwalk'? Having trouble getting used to the iPad !

Going out for dinner tonight which involves a dark mwalk along the coastal path to the 'point'. Hostess has just phoned to say wear lots of warm clothes as the east wind is blowing through her house - brrr

elegran I spent most of Friday morning trying to get into a bank website that I only use occasionally, and it meant resetting my password etc. I eventually talked to a person, and the reset code that they had e mailed to me ended in 0 or O....and of course I'd not noticed..as you say, the relief is fantastic. It's just that one is loth to give in! Until one absolutely has to.

Every bally time I had to start from scratch again with verify by Visa. There is a way to turn it off. I can't remember how, but it was driving me bonkers too, so I phoned the bank and asked about it. The relief was wonderful.

Verified by Visa annoys I have to keep resetting my password, but its so easy its worrying.

DGS1s was 7 on Wednesday but should have been having his bowling party this morning but the snow called a halt and it had to be re-scheduled, he has been so excited

its verified by visa that does my head in nellie
