Today I've been.....

oops didn't mean to put 3 nows in there!
Today DD3 and I finallyscattered J's ashes at Fairlight. It has been a lovely day, the water was calm and just as they floated out, billowing around the rocks, the ferry appeared on the horizon - very appropriate as J loved nothing better than to spend a day flitting from one ferry to another in Sydney Harbour.

Mishap I can sympathise. The 4 year old has the most appalling tantrums at the drop of a hat - she's always done it, but I think it's also her way now of objecting to the usurper who is now 4 weeks old! I have now taken to totally ignoring her and it seems to do the trick! I feel very sorry for our daughters having to cope with all this

Unpacking. I had a lovely week with my DD and SIL and the weather was very kind. Loved the flower carpet in the Grand Place, quite spectacular as we did it at night and they put on a light show with music.

He's a lucky wee lad to have such an understanding gran. Life can be hard at that age, if things are a bit unstable.

Mishap I'll bet your daughter is really glad to have your support - but yes, it can be very tiring. You deserve some and a glass of .

gracesmum - lots of jolly wishes for a happy day. I hope that OH stays well for the event. We agonised for weeks last year about OH being able to cope with the wedding and especially the speech, but come the day it was a triumph and we need not have worried. He had to hide away and rest at one point, but that was fine - he made it through all the important bits. I am sure it will all come right for you - just enjoy it all and make the most of it - if something is not perfect it is not the end of the world - relish the good bits - I am sure there will be lots of them!

Today I have been........trying to help and support my DD while her dear wee son of 3 years had the mega-ist and longest of all tantrums - I have never seen anything like it - he was quite beside himself and very frightened by his own loss of control. She handled it very well and I was very proud indeed of her. Poor wee chap has had a very difficult time - his Mum was ill for many months last year and he was shunted around a bit (always to people who love him dearly); he has a new baby in the family; his Dad has been away all summer and DD has been doing her utmost to meet everyone's needs on virtually no sleep; and he has a bit of a tummy bug. So we will forgive the dear wee chap - I told him that however much he is sad about it all, he must remember that everyone always loves him. It was quite a spectacle mind!! - I feel quite exhausted.

ella you dont think they notice things but they do surprise us when they do.

Been out for a lovely lunch with two close friends and when I got home my son had left a huge bouquet of flowers in my porch.
It's my dad's birthday and he was checking to see if I'm ok.

My yoga session was extended by 20 minutes as our lovely instructor had forgotten the class ends at 11:00! I certainly feel I've worked hard for my when the appropriate hour approaches (any excuse I say!). Been to look at carpets for the new sitting room we are creating - found a super one, however with underlay and fitting it comes to £1150 so better have a re-think.
