What do you want for the next 5/10/20 years

I was sitting around with a group of my friends the other day and we started talking about our plans and ambitions for the future. I was amazed by how many we had, despite being advanced in years! I wondered if other people have lots of ideas about what they want out of the next 10 years, say?

Mainly a good healthy few years smile

More travel, health, see 3rd son happily married, more GCs, get the garden under control, another balloon ride, complete my bucket list, make more friends....................

Lots I don't want to do: get immobile, get fat, become frumpy, develop aches and pains. Think I'll stop now, don't like listing these!

Get fitter. Live to see my GC graduate - one will next year, the others are a lot younger; live to cuddle a great-grandchild.

Keep walking up mountains, emigrate to New Zealand, be contacted by my daughter, find some pristine coral in the South Pacific, re-read all my classical literature, write some decent poems, continue to make new friends, see my ten grandchildren all happily settled with their chosen partners and careers, add to my quota of great-grand-children.

To see both my DSs settled in good relationships with their partners and hope DD meets someone who can help her with her wish to be happy with a new partner in her life.To move to a bungalow so mr.g has no problems with stairs (even though it is only one flight)To travel some more I have never been to Russia and would love to visit,to have good health and have all my friends enjoying good health.

Good health and great friends and happy children and grandchildren. Winning the lottery would be welcome but we all know that money isn't the answer to all things but it might answer a few questions I have wink

Off the top of my head to keep fit and healthy, move to a bungalow, keep walking, walk the Camino de Santiago (provisionally planned for September 2013), learn Spanish and make new friends.

To continue being supportive to my family and to live long enough to see my grandaughter become an adult.

Stay alive, see Eisha settled, maybe a holiday or two don't usually look too far ahead just go where life takes me,just hope it is kind to me wherever I end up sunshine

To see my grandchildren grow up happy and healthy, for my 21 yr old DS to find a job.
To move to a bungalow with a view. To travel to the many places I've yet to see. And to have the money to do both grin grin

almost same as glammanana omitting the Russia bit lol....to see DD settled (especialy the younger one , when I say younger she will be 30 this year) lol...
and yes would love to move to bungalow, whilst DH is still around..but cannot see that happening so will be content to see DD settled (older one is almost there)! smile

To continue to discover and enjoy new experiences.

• To emigrate to New Zealand (by May next year), spend time with my grandchildren, share their lives and watch them grow up.
• To learn to speak Maori and improve my Italian.
• To catalogue and collate the family archive (entrusted to me by my late aunt) and convert fragile documents and photographs into electronic records.
• To learn how to swim front crawl – I can swim kilometres in ponderous middle-aged lady's breaststroke but it's very slow.
• To write some fiction for a change.
• To cuddle great grandchildren

Then, in my spare time…

Just a warning to all those contemplating moving to a bungalow, apparently stairs are good for knees and not going up and down stairs is bad for them! Or so I have been told by a couple of physios.

My DH had lots of knee problems/operations before he retired and hardly used stairs at all as he used the lift at work. Now we live on the side of a hill and have 2 stories at the front and 3 at the back so lots of stairs which he goes up and down all the time and his knees are great.

Of course if you already have mobility problems then a bungalow is a good idea but we are postponing it for as long as possible!

My wish is that I may continue to want what I have, and have the good grace to accept whatever changes come my way.
