... That it takes several hours before you notice that DDpal who has been here for a few hours already and is still doing things to biscuits with icing sugar and sweets....

.... is still wearing her cycle helmet!

grin

She, like DD, had to pay for a new one recently because they kept mislaying them. DDpal-mum and I thought that their having to spend their own pocket money on a new one might help them not to mislay. DDpal clearly is keeping hers attached to her person!

That gave me a great giggle - love the vision of DDpal cooking and icing in her helmet.
I just really like the unawareness of her wearing it - being so involved that all else recedes. smile

Meanwhile DH has put a tent up in the garden (haggis tent) and I've been informed that DDpal is staying the night. DDpal's parents have been informed too. They have now hauled essentials up the hill into the tent and the house has gone quiet. About two thirds of the decorated biscuits have disappeared magically as well. Somehow, I don't think they'll need much dinner. sunshine making the most thereof....

They are just fabulous aren't they ? I remember DS1 buying his first pair of trainers from his paper round money tips that he got one christmas, they where those "pump up trainers" that where all the rage and mr.g and I would only pay for the usual clark's trainers, but those trainers where cleaned polished and nurtured as you would the crown jewels, and I think maybe he did go to bed in them ?? grinhoping they enjoy their camping out our tent used to be up permently during the summer months, has been known during snow as well .sunshinesunshine

Our younger son used to sleep in his football kit (including boots!!) before a match in case he woke up late. Of course he didn't - he usually came into our room at about 6am!
