Jingle thanks, you spurred me on and I've just finished cleaning the kitchen - dishes done and put away, the sink is gleaming white and all the worktops and cupboard doors are pristine. I've prepped a load of vegetables and put them on with steak mince to make a great big ragu to divide up for a few different dishes - it's bubbling gently on the hob. I've done the recycling and made a cup of tea - all in 3/4 hour. (Note to self - see! wasn't that difficult, was it?'

Hi Jacey I'm 64 on 11 June. I was too shy to say last year (what? I hear you say, since when were you shy?) as we had only just got going on Gransnet. Perhaps you would all like to come for morning coffee that day and I'll make a coffee and walnut cake. smile

Agree whenim64 ...it is 'fatal' coming on here befre I've done any jobs grin
I just don't know where the time goes shock

By the way ...when is your 64th?? Don't want to miss wishing you a 'happy birthday' sunshine

jingle my list these days usually take this pattern ......shake yourself today and get something done grin leaving the list open to interpretation grin

Item 1 on any "to do" list ss always "Make list". That way I get to tick one thing off at least.

GoldenGran Wed 02-May-12 10:55:07

I'm not a great list maker jingl but I realise that is why not everything gets done when it should. I'm always "turning over a new leaf" and making them then I lose them or can't read them. However inspired by you I am going to be a new me and start again.smile

If it works, let us know Jingle. My list of jobs not done won't fit on one page! I'm avoiding them like the plague. So far today, I have got up and dressed, fed the dog and taken her for a walk, had breakfast and emailed a few people, then settled down to read the online papers and Gransnet. Everything has come to a stop. I usually 'earn' some time relaxing by getting jobs done and then sitting down for a cup of tea and a look at the internet, but the percentages of time online and time doing jobs have changed radically! Must have a talk with myself grin

In fact, I am getting up now to wash the remainder of the dishes and clean the kitchen worktops (back in a bit!) grin

It would take me all day to write out the jobs list - so it would be the same result - no jobs done.

imjingl Wed 02-May-12 10:32:30

written out a jobs list with the title, "This you will bloody well do today". Without the crossing-outs.

I am getting far too good at ignoring jobs lists.

I hope it works. hmm
