Sardines and sweetcorn??

I used to do the same with sardines, my family loved it.

Maniac, I should have said THANK YOU for the recipe. My DH and my daughter would really like that so perhaps I'll make one for them, and have a taste too. Might surprise myself!

Love tuna sandwiches with mayo , lettuce and cucumber

Really hate that combination - why would you do that to tuna? Plain tuna with either a hint of vinegar or mayo is sufficient

Love sweetcorn, love tuna - hate them mixed up together - it doesn't make sense to me.

Unexplainable!! Since the 50's tuna has been thrown together with sweetcorn. Maybe it's something to do with them both being tinned and in the cupboard!

I love tuna, but why does sweetcorn seem to be an obligatory addition? Fine if you like it, but so many ready-bought tuna sandwiches (I know, should make my own!) and sandwich fillings contain it, and I'm not at all keen...

It's blowing a gale and bucketing down.
So I would turn back and raid my store cupboard.
Here's a good stand-by recipe.-an old family favourite.

Tuna /sweetcorn/mushroom pie

Tin of (Tuna
(Sweetcorn
(Campbell's condensed Mushroom soup.
Pkt of frozen Short cut pastry

Roll pastry to 12" square
Mix 3 tinned contents and pile into centre of square.
Bring points to centre and pinch edges together.
Bake in fairly hot oven (210 deg Fan ).

Good hot or cold with salad

This week the weather here has been beautiful, not too hot and not at all cold, lots of sunshine, no clouds, beautiful blue sky, gorgeous autumn days. Today is expected to be sunny and around 18C by Tuesday back up to 23C and then on Wednesday 19C and rain. Winter is on its way. I will send you some sunshine while I can but it is sadly running out.

jingle I would brave the weather for some nice home made bread, home grown tomatoes, olives, avocado, some roasted vegetables and a freddo frog (did I say a freddo frog, I have given them up).

Such a brave girl Jingle! I'm totally fed up with this cold wet weather. Huddled up in winter woollies, the wind blowing a hoolie(sp?) rain lashing against the window. Thank goodness for your antics, catching up and smiling at lots of lovely posts on GN.

It's actually not raining here today and I have got three loads of washing dry!

Can't bear to even stick my nose outside today - had to brave it though beacuse I needed some chives from the garden. 10C in the south of England and we're nearly into May. Doesn't seem to be any sign of it warming up.

A nice lady sold me the bike for a £10 donation to a dogs home. It comes with all mod-cons The manual is rather intimidating - far too wordy for my liking. If I can tear myself away from this forum sometime, I may read the blurb, grasp the fundamentals, and build up some much needed muscle power.
