my Dgs (aged 6) was - inexplicably! - allowed to partake of the communion wine.
As he raised the miniature glass that they use to his lips he said, loud and clear "Cheers!"

I remember going to Sunday School and putting my 6d collection in the plate and taking a threepenny bit out! my mother was mortified when I proudly showed it to her when I got home.

I was quite proud of them later on in the day Greatnan, when we went out for a walk and they were singing "Thine be the Glory" at the tops of their voices!
GillieB I was very surprised! I thought it might be because they are between vicars at the moment, and perhaps the lay people were running away with themselves a bit! But I see from your post that it is getting to be the norm.
