You're a star. Can you fit DH into your case as well? I'll need him to pick up the pieces - if the sharks don't get there first.

Are you trying to scare me, Jack? I haven't heard of any sharks around Nelson! smile

The first time in my life I've had a son get married! This is the wedding of James, age 33, my eldest lad. We had a bit of a fall out last year, but all is sorted now and James and Dianne got married on Saturday the 21st of April. It all went really well, and right now they are having a great honeymoon at Montville, Maleny, Qld. Anyway, a sneak peek at their wedding photos can be accessed at:

Blog page (bottom option LHS)
Dianne and James Wedding sneak peek.

Anyway, on the group photo, third row middle, Terry and I are on the RHS behind the bridesmaid in the blue dress. I'm wearing maroon and Terry has a red bow tie. David, our other son is on the black and white photo bottom middle next to James.

Hope it works

Love to everyone

Joan

Hi Joan, yes it works and I'm so glad you were there and in the thick of it after the difficulties you experienced last year. smile
I've just looked at the photo's with the rain pouring down outside my window and trying to imagine an outdoor wedding in our unpredictable climate! Here's to sunshine!

I've started cycling...off road. We pop them on the back of the car and go to sustrans paths.

Well I have restarted cycling after failing miserably last year after my knee replacement. OH and I have cycled for many years but I found it very difficult last year to even get on the bike. At the moment I am still just using off road cycle tracks and have not really ventured onto the road. I was so proud of myself the first time we went out - cycled down the side of the River Tyne. I still find it difficult to get on (and off, but then I just drop the bike on the ground and sort of hop over it). However, the second time we went we changed our route a little bit and ended up on a track which had just been re-gravelled. Disaster - the gravel was so deep, the bike wouldn't go through it and I was thrown off! I lay on the floor, crying, and worrying whether I had damaged my new knee. After a few minutes, though, managed to get up and we walked for a little bit. OH offered to go and get the car, but I steeled myself and climbed back on. I am quite sure if I hadn't have done, that would have been it - - no more cycling. I just wish the weather was better now, so that I could go out more.

Today I did something. I was miserable this morning for some reason, then my gardener man didn't come because it was raining - so I got irritable and thought there's this meeting on in Abingdon this afternnoon.......so I went to a U3A meeting! There were about 100 people, far more than I expected, and a woman talked about her life being a white van woman.
Met various people, talked about family history stuff and may well go back - I am interested in a genealogy group that is forming and i missed the first meeting last week1

Oxon70 Mon 23-Apr-12 17:02:57

AND - instead of crying, as I did this morning, I found myself singing when i came back. (What? 'The day we went to Rothesay-O')

My first helicopter ride ...glaciers in NZ. We landed and were permitted to walk on the ice!! The pilot was brilliant ..he didn't do that nose down tail up thingy you often see on cop shows ...he was very gentle with me!! grin

Hi Joan, Glad to hear your family has "got over it" now. Can't get the photo to magnify on my laptop unfortunately.
In the last year I started jogging and kept it up. Qualified as a yoga teacher. And published my ebook about the immune system. Also took on chairing my local U3A. Counts as a good year I guess. Oh and joined a forum...

Last Friday I went to a play reading at our local Little Theatre gp.I don't want to appear on stage but like reading aloud .I read a small part in 'Outside Edge' a comedy about a cricket match.
Good company and good fun

This week had a Photo Shoot (on a Groupon Voucher). I have few decent photos of me as I'm usually holding the camera. My plan was to get a good
one for the family before I get too old and wrinkly. As up to 8 people can be included I decided to ask my son and ex-OH to join in.
It was great fun.The young photographer was wonderful -putting us at ease and leaping around.he took over 140 shots sitting ,standing, singles, pairs, trios
The session took just over 1 hr.and what I saw looked good
We will have a viewing next week.
I might put 1 or2 on my profile.I also plan to send some to my grandson (denied contact) to update image of his dad and grandparents.
