Yes Oxon do as you are told!!
I had a routine appointment at the Doc's this morning made 3 weeks ago - so I swapped my symptoms and came out with a hefty dose of antiB's after being told I have bronchitis; I Knew I wasn't well grin

Same again Gally.

Another miserable weather day - cold, snowing at times and a bitter East wind (:

harrigran Mon 16-Apr-12 21:53:44

Commiserations to all poorly people and best wishes for speedy recoveries. flowerssunshineflowerssunshineflowerssunshineflowerssunshine

Congratulations to harrigran, but I did smile at the picture your comment painted; was tempted to say your house might have been finished sooner if you'd employed builders rather than gardeners. grin

I have just spent the longest 25min in my whole life.

DD has a presentation at Uni tomorrow and had left the usb stick in the laptop and yes you guessed right it snapped off and no she had not saved it anywhere else............. so she was crying and saying she had failed and lost a fortune in tutition fees. We managed to get a connection and save the info which was not just her presentation but also 13,756,00 word dissertation, business plan etc etc............. and she had not saved it anywhere else. I have had to have a glass of wine once it was saved and emailed to three different addresses.

grannyactivist Mon 16-Apr-12 23:02:14

Oh glass no-one would blame you if you dived into the bottle after an experience like that! Glad it was a happy outcome though. smile

bagitha Tue 17-Apr-12 06:34:57

Phew, glass! Hadn't saved it anywhere else! Oh boy! I hope she has learned the hard way. Pity you had to as well though! wine sunshine

Butternut Tue 17-Apr-12 07:22:54

shock glass. What an evening! Very pleased all turned out well. I bet that glass of wine was one of the best every had grin.

glassortwo Tue 17-Apr-12 07:39:58

butter It was well needed I can tell you! We dismantled the USB, but my fingers ends are sore with trying to hold the internal bits of the USB together and keeping pressure on to try to keep the connection live, think she has learnt the hard way hmm Last year she had everything saved all over the place, dont know what she was thinking of!!!!

greenmossgiel Tue 17-Apr-12 10:03:15

What a nightmare, glass! Where would they be without us!! confusedsmile

greenmossgiel Tue 17-Apr-12 10:04:56

SOOP Tue 17-Apr-12 10:32:38

Glass ...the stuff of nightmares shock...well done wine

nanachrissy Tue 17-Apr-12 15:58:04

Gally & Oxon, hope you are both feeling better and Oxon, that you have been back to docs?
((Hugs)) to you both.

nanachrissy Tue 17-Apr-12 16:04:38

I've been sitting with my dad every day, and feeling exhausted. Doctors and district nurses are in attendance frequently and the care home staff are wonderful.
I feel so lucky that dad has had such amazing care. Bless him, his heart must be so strong, too strong really. sad

I feel quite calm about it but it's a very fine line...shock

bagitha Tue 17-Apr-12 16:35:30

chrissy, thinking of you. x

Also been doing pottering about jobs (too wet to work outside today, though the sun is shining now) that have been accumulating for a long time while and, whilst doing them, wondering why there is part of a brick under my desk confused!

I was rummaging under the desk for the laminator which lives in a Hunter's welly box under there (keeps the dust off; dusting isn't one of my strong points).

Then I remembered. It had been part of a bookshelf prop, but I've solved the saggy bookshelf problem with a screw now.

I'm rather fond of bricks. Brought one home from my honeymoon in 1977 in my suitcase. But that's another story.

Elegran Tue 17-Apr-12 19:30:04

Today I've been mainly juggling visits from GP, District Nurse, Community Nurse, and carers, arranging for DD1 to come from Deep South tomorrow and DS and his OH to stay for tonight as well as last night. After 3 years bonus time, DH is now bedbound and attached to a medication pump. He drinks very little and eats nothing and when he is not asleep he does not want me out of his sight. Not the best of times.

glassortwo Tue 17-Apr-12 19:36:44

chrissy & elegran thinking of you both, take care, sending you both {{hugs}} flowers flowers

Oh Elegran ((hugs)) my heart goes out to you. Not an easy time for us, but we will get through it with our family to support us. xx
