Awoke to a magical scene - the 'well-boat' is anchored offshore, It's bright red and white reflection in the glassy sea is beautiful. The helicopter is transporting smelts [young fish] from the fish farm high on the hill. It hovers, and gently lowers it's cargo into the well. This operation will continue throughout the day. When all smelts have been transferred, the ship will sail to Carradale, where the smelts will be moved to cages so that they may develop into tasty salmon. And then an otter swam by at a leisurely pace. Photo taken. May post it later.

Ariadne Super photos flowers

Have uploaded two images of the well-boat...

bagitha Wed 28-Mar-12 12:13:45

Lovely! Both the boat and the otter. I should try and get as good a pic of what I call the "balloon boat" — it checks the mooring buoys on the loch every spring and, with new floats, looks as if it is piled with balloons.

Thanks everyone for your kind wishes.

I met my girl friends from my regular exercise class and had coffee and just chatting made me feel more cheerful.
Then I visited dad and he was quite bright and alert, which also helped as I never know what I'm going to find when I get there!

I know others have much worse to contend with, so I do count my blessings.

Going to the hairdressers now for a radical chop!!!

Enjoy the sun everyone sunshine

Thanks smile

nanachrissy Wed 28-Mar-12 13:58:33

Lovely pics Super The sun reflecting on the water is glorious, and your other photos always make me smile. Gorgeous,(and you must hold the record, or maybe Baggy, for the most pics!) smile

glammanana Thu 29-Mar-12 10:56:17

Lovely photo's super what a glorious colour the water is (wishing The Mersey was that colour) I must get my head around putting photo's on.

supernana Thu 29-Mar-12 12:36:22

glamma look forward to seeing your photos. It always seems a bit of chore, but well worth it once the gallery is up and running. What I haven't yet mastered, is getting latest additions to appear first. My gallery is a tad muddled confused

nanachrissy Did the visit to the hairdresser lift your spirits? I hope so. Still a hazy sun to light the seascape. Wind has shifted. waves where there was calm...sunshine

bagitha I have an image of the "balloon boat" in my mind's eye. smile

nanachrissy Thu 29-Mar-12 12:47:40

Yes thanks Supernana I love my hair cut and it did the trick yesterday.
Today, world war 3 has broken out in my family, so I'm thinking of moving in with Greatnan!

supernana Thu 29-Mar-12 12:56:59

nanachrissy I may be able to put you up in my room in the posh hospital. Saturday at 4pm - out with the old [hip] and in with the new. Would like to think I'll be totally with-it soon after. Don't forget the party grin

nanachrissy Thu 29-Mar-12 19:22:01

That would be great Super but I'm having a sleepover with my favourite baby! Yaay.smile

SiL has insinuated in a very snidynice way that he may have to stop my gds having any contact with me and the rest of my family.

I refuse to be bullied. Men always underestimate me and think because I'm emotional that I'm weak.
Big mistake.

See you at the party wine

Annobel Thu 29-Mar-12 19:40:02

I'm saving myself for that party, super. wine

supernana Thu 29-Mar-12 20:00:09

Annobel wine grin nanachrissy...that's my girl. Good for you smile

absentgrana Fri 30-Mar-12 02:46:55

Mostly waiting for absentdaughter's contractions to speed up from every 7 minutes (since 1.30 this morning). I have also completed the ironing left since July - absentdaughter wasn't joking.

It's Friday afternoon in New Zealand. I reckon grandson number 5 will put in appearance some time during the early hours of Saturday morning. (He's already 10 days overdue.) Dad will be there but I shall be looking after the other children.

Ariadne Fri 30-Mar-12 06:05:59

super lovely photos! I'll be thinking of you on Saturday. (((hugs)))

nanachrissy Fri 30-Mar-12 09:14:16

Ther's nothing so daunting as a huge pile of ironing Absent so take it steady and have fun with the children smile. Hope all goes well with the birth flowers

glassortwo Fri 30-Mar-12 09:22:29

absent how exciting knowing the new GC will be here very soon. sunshine

Annobel Fri 30-Mar-12 09:36:57

He must be nearly there, absent. Night-time in NZ now. You and the other GC will be so excited. It's lovely for them to have you there for the birth. flowers

supernana Fri 30-Mar-12 11:56:36

Ariadne and glass I'm going to miss you and my daily visit to GN. Cannot begin to tell you how much better I feel, thanks to much appreciated support - and huge dollops of laughter! grin flowers

Oldgreymare Fri 30-Mar-12 18:53:10

Good luck for tomorrow supernana.
When I had my 'babies' many many years ago their were private rooms and general wards. I was told by a cynical nurse that the only difference was that the ladies in the private rooms had biscuits on a plate WITH a doily.
I'm sure your posh hospital will have lots of 'luxuries'.
Ariadne interesting photos to go with a fascinating visit, such a shame about the theft of the only computer.

Ariadne Fri 30-Mar-12 19:07:27

Being tired. We came back from SA last weekend (more pictures and a blog soon!) and have been restoring furniture to rightful places / washing/ packing ever since. Yesterday, when I could hardly move, I admitted that we had, perhaps overdone it. Theseus admitted that he felt the same, so we have pottered a bit today. Feel better already.

And now, my friends - wine cheers! To bed soon. One has eventually to realise that one is getting on a bit, doesn't one? Occasionally.

Oldgreymare Fri 30-Mar-12 19:13:44

True Ariadne.... I've made the most of the glorious weather this week, spending a lot of time working on the allottment, then home to cook a late lunch then a power nap (absolutely essential!) in the garden!
Took a break on Wed. and spent the day at the coast (Burton Bradstock near Bridport) Bliss!
Now enjoying a wine.... cheers!

Greatnan Fri 30-Mar-12 19:20:37

You are very welcome to visit me, NannyChrissie! It is very peaceful here. And no ironing to be done!
I still have not heard anything from my estranged daughter and three of her four children, but I am enjoying my life and no longer lie awake trying to work out where I went wrong. They may need me one day, and I will always be glad to hear from them.

I have just got back from spending two days with a very good friend and her husband, in their apartment in Switzerland. It is in a spa complex so she and I spent several hours in the warm thermal baths yesterday and today we had a drive around some very, very, high mountains. They made my own mountains look like rolling hills. The weather was superb and the scenery was awe-inspiring. They know my story and are very supportive. I am very lucky in my friends.

nanachrissy Fri 30-Mar-12 19:28:58

Thanks Greatnan you could become our Gransnet Sanctuary! wink
I wondered where you were, those thermal baths sound wonderful, and good friends are very important. flowers

wotsamashedupjingl Fri 30-Mar-12 19:29:57

OGM did you get one of those Dorset apple cakes from that little shop? They are sooo delicious!

bagitha Sat 31-Mar-12 07:49:09

Perfect day for a tramp in the hills! sunshine Have a good day, everyone! Good luck with the hip op, super! See yous all later. 'M'off now! smile
