Petition to stop the EARLY RELEASE for PC Harpers killers

I signed the petition. I’m contident Andy Burnham can read the room. I’m not sure that legally, he can stop the early release of these two because they were passengers, not drivers.
Their behaviour during the trial indicates no remorse, no understanding of the impact of their behaviour, they made no attempt to stop the driver though they were all aware ‘something’ was being dragged.
I wonder about their behaviour in prison.
Do we need mandatory life sentences when police and other emergency services are killed in the line of duty.

The last Conservative government brought in mandatory life sentences for the killing of emergency workers killed whilst on duty.

It is life now for killers of emergency workers - this law was introduced after PC Harpers murder. But it can’t be applied retrospectively . As awful as this case is, we should all want to live in a society where the rule of law applies to all regardless of how terrible their behaviour is.

To add insult to injury the caravan site they originated from has been refurbished at cost by the taxpayer. Rewards for crime. The whole system stinks.

We both signed the petition yesterday when it was linked on "Next Door" website. I absolutely abhor the idea of these appalling criminals coming out,they're still so young, they need to be denied the freedom to have the experiences of a great big slice of their life that P C Harper will never have.

It was an awful crime and I agree that there should be no early release for them on the grounds that he was a policeman on active duty.
If AB is not reading the room on this matter, it worries me.
