If you lost your phone/bag whilst out, how would you………

I know DHs number better than mine - I have often given it instead <LOL>

He would be able to track my phone.

As to my bag, that would be a disaster to replace all of my cards. I do keep a £10 note in my phone case.

My brain is full of codes and numbers. I live in a flat...code for gate access, bins, bike shed etc.pin numbers for bank cards. So I haven't made an effort to remember mobile number. I've tried but it just won't stick. Overload me thinks!

It’s all well and good to memorise telephone numbers, but lots of people don’t answer unfamiliar numbers, as I know to my cost. What would we have done years ago before mobile phones and credit cards? Just find a phone box and ask for a reverse call. So much easier in many ways!

That is so true.
Then you have the scammers, ‘I’ve have lost my phone’, texts, so people are reluctant to reply back.

I no longer keep a key in my key safe as my neighbour had theirs wrenched off the wall and the key was used to burgle the house.
Lots of food for thought here. I’m no good with remembering numbers either.

Oh heck 😳 think we are going to have to go back to old fashioned way of threading a key on a string & putting round our necks.

A pocket diary, 2 phones, a friend etc

I have my families/friends contact numbers in my car. I very rarely take a bag unless going out to socialise. My mobile usually goes in my bra or an inside pocket. This is not ideal I know but I would like to see someone trying to get it.

i would go home and call my son on my house phone and he would track my phone, he has had a tracker on my phone for about 5 years, my mum was upset that he does this but i don't have a problem with it. i use a walker when out and my handbag is over the handles at the front, someone would need to move me out of the way to get to my bag, i also have a shopping bag and my keys are in that.

Be careful of pockets as they may be picked. A few weeks ago we were in M&S food department. Noticed a woman right behind us but didn’t think anything of it until we went out and just as we were about to cross a road she suddenly appeared and sort of stumbled into my husband and spent a short while apologising. It looked suspicious so I immediately asked dh to check his pockets. She hadn’t managed to take anything but I remembered her being close behind us as dh was paying in cash. I’m sure she was noting where he replaced his wallet.

Leave a spare with your neighbour or/and in a safe hiding place. Always keep at least £100 cash at home.
Take a taxi home . Get your house keys from your neighbours or your safe hiding place - open the door - get the money from inside the house, pay the taxi driver then get to your landline
and ring the police .

Lol I'd play the poor oldish woman and hoped someone took pity on me. Other than that I don't know. My daughter has a fob so I can get into my block and I have a smart lock, my difficulties would be getting home.
