Which (cheap) washing machine?

Someone I know with very little money needs to buy a replacement washing machine, and who best to advise than other GNers? It needs to be cheap, easy to use and preferably have a good spin cycle (but not a built-in drier). Can anyone help from personal experience? Many thanks.

Can recommend a Beko. Had mine 6 years - just replaced the rubber flange in the door - other than that never had a problem and it washes as well as any other I've used. It has a quick wash (about 35 mins) which is mainly what I use. I do use the top speed spin which is excellent.
