Mobile Hairdressers

At one point I was in the a similar situation. I was in my early 40s and working full time and she came round in the evening.

Yes, it wasn't the full hair salon comfort but it was very convenient. Your hairdresser will tell you whether she would like you to wash your hair before she comes or whether she will do it. It can vary.

My experience lasted less than a year, my hairdresser got an job with a top London hairdresser and I had to find another hairdresser and return to the salon.

I think I'd hate it! For me, it's going into town, chatting to everyone etc which I will continue to do for as long as I can.

Mind you, the stairs up to the salon are getting really steep.

I used to love going to the hairdressers.
I have had to revert to a mobile hairdresser about 2years ago who visits me in my home.

She is lovely and does a "dry cut" for me as I have to wash it a couple of days before due to health problems.
She does a fantastic job and it costs a quarter of what I used to pay so I am more than happy!

My friend has the same lady even though she is fit and active. She washes her own hair just before the hairdresser arrives mainly because my friend is that busy it saves time.
I can understand though that if you are fit and active getting out to the hairdressers is a great treat.

My hairdresser has just left my house and as always i am very pleased with the result. My neighbour was paying over a hundred pounds a time in a salon and now uses my hairdresser and pays about 60% less now, and is as pleased as i am.

My hairdresser has just left, she is a treasure. If I had not had a mobile hairdresser I would have been in dire straits these last few years. I do not miss the salon and the sitting around while she finishes off another lady, I get her full attention.

(10yrs +) has relocated to another salon quite a distance away for personal reasons quite upsetting on my part as she knew my hair and did a good job
I need an appointment to get my highlights done and the salon was unable to oblige as they were one stylist down.

My sister:s mobile hairdresser was able to oblige and did a very nice job
She put some different colours in my hair, that I didn't usually have.
So overall I was very happy with the result.
As the highlights were on dry hair and then required washing off, I decided rather than putting head over sink it was easier to run upstairs and jump in the shower.
Pulling off foils and then putting conditioner on.
By the time I came downstairs she had drunk her coffee and tidied up ready to do my cut and blow dry.

It was slightly less expensive than my usual salon but then it was my electric and hot water.

I am going to go back to my usual salon but if it suits me to have the mobile hairdresser I will give her a call.

My mobile hairdresser was here yesterday. I love having it done at home . Ok I have to lean over the bath to have hair washed by her but it's better than using the kitchen sink. She does a great cut and charges £20 less than they salon I used to go to . She has become a good friend and I can chat to her about anything and it only takes a couple of minutes to Hoover up when she leaves.

I used to go to a salon but he sold it and then kept his customers by going mobile. I washed it myself as I often felt that the hair rinsing by the junior was not thorough enough and kept on. The only thing was that he wouldn't come at 1pm when I booked him he would turn up early if he had a cancellation. £12 for blow dry and £23 for a cut.

My local hairdresser closed and the girl I used to have went mobile. It was great. She was very cheap and did the same job. Most of my neighbours have mobile hairdressers. My daughter and greanddaughter use her now.

I would add that I hated going to the hairdressers. My hair was thin and stringy and sitting watching other women having fabulous styles was torture. This girl knew me and my hair and I felt more comfortable at home.

I'm just back from hairdresser's. It's a bit of a treat, as I find it hard to wash my hair due to health problems. I used to wash it every day when I was working, but it is now such an effort. I also like the chat and usually meet someone I know. A pleasant way to pass the morning.

My hairdresser comes tomorrow, she's been coming for about 14 years, I love her coming to the house, she also cuts DH's then goes round and cuts DD and SIL. I've also introduced her to friends I used to work with, I think mine should be free I've bought her in so much business.

Mine comes to the house. It is lovely not to have to stare at self in all those mirrors they have in the salons! She is lovely and we have developed a very good relationship. It is as if she is part of the family.

I love my mobile hairdresser, I've used her for about 6 years. She comes every week and blow dries my very fine hair and gives it some volume. I always wash my hair before she comes. I even went to her house one Christmas Eve as requested.

My mobile hairdresser has been coming for years. She's lovely and does a good job. She puts colour on my (dry) hair when she arrives then cuts DH's hair (after he's washed it himself in bathroom). Then she rinses my hair at kitchen sink and finishes off with cut and blow dry. She is younger than us so keeps us up to date but not mutton dressed as lamb either. She does our DD1's family too. We make next appt before she leaves but she is flexible if circs change. Reasonable price too, £32 for my cut, colour and blow dry and DH's cut and dry too. Of course she's using our elec and hot water and shampoo too but that's fine. We put down an old sheet under chair so cleaning up afterwards is minimal.
