How do you choose a thread?

I was wondering how gransnetters navigate around the forums site, how do you choose where to go?
Do you have favourite places? I often come upon really interesting posts by chance long after they were active and find I've missed out!
I would love to hear about others 'log in' routines.

jane On my phone it's very simple. Log on to the page, slide up the menu at the bottom of the screen and select 'pin to start '
