Inexpensive fridge freezer for the garage!

Most fridge and freezer manufacturers use the get out clause to make sure no one claims if their appliance fails. I have a large chest freezer and a fridge freezer in my garage, the F/F is now 20 years old and still going strong. So just buy the one that fits the space and budget.

We have had a fridge then a freezer in the garage for years. The fridge was the old one from the kitchen and we just used it for drinks, mainly, but it was fine.
The freezers were firstly a small chest freezer, now an upright which was 2nd hand from a friend. All have seemed fine (so far).

I bought a Beko Frost Free upright freezer from John Lewis for the garage which allows for the ambient temperature falling minus 10deg. If I had found the same item cheaper elsewhere, they would have refunded the difference, but this wasn't necessary.

My freezer lives in the garage and has survived 5 years without problems.
It's me that suffers, having to run out to it on dark wet cold evenings!
Can't remember what make it is and don't feel like running out there now to have a look.. laziness!

Auction rooms or Gumtree; then if you haven't paid too much you won't mind when it gets rusty (as it probably will). We also have a blanket on top and it stands on a wooden pallet but it is still always damp on the outside. We are in a very humid area.

I've already got an upright freezer in the garage, it's not Beko but Electrolux or something of that ilk, which we have had for about 5 years so, presumably, our garage doesn't get so cold? I'll look at Appliances on Line Nellie, thank you. We want one that is half and half I think.

We have always put a blanket on top (taking care not to cover the grill thingy) and taped bubble wrap to the side - its was fine even in coldest Yorkshire.

Does the temperature in your garage drop below 10C ? It is not recommenedd to use most freezers below this point. Beko is the only manufacturer that claims its freezers can be kept in garages.

I'm looking for one too - I have a small chest freezer but want an upright one as my back doesn't appreciate bending over! shall be putting this one on e-bay as its perfectly good.

How big a fridge freezer are you looking at? Is it the fridge bit you need most or the freezer? "Appliances Online" do stuff like that. I have a friend who uses them for such white goods.
