Crimplene - what is it called now

Some of the suggestions on here (such as Jersey and Ponte) are actually knitted.
Not sure they have the "hang" of a woven fabric tbh - though I think Ponte is usually substantial.

Crimplene fell out of favour when Trevira came in.
I think you may still find Trevira but it might just be in furnishing weight.
It's a type of polyester.

Why not try a poly/linen mix?

Oh I do agree, it clings, it sparks with static and it pollutes the environment forever

I was very glad when clothes stopped being made with crimplene. It was a horrible fabric to wear.

There are a few lengths of vintage Crimplene for sale on Ebay.

Dunelm have fabrics on rolls would that be any help. Here it’s by the curtains and cushions etc general haberdashery.

Jersey? Ponte? Google something online in a shop you like and see what they call it now.

Can you find the item number and search for it on the website? If it's gone then maybe there is a similar dress there, or you could e-mail Country Rose and ask them. If you give them your order number perhaps they could look it up. I think the key to finding the correct material is through them.

Perhaps it was scuba or neoprene? That’s quite easy to sew with.
