Symington’s Table Creams and Bird’s Instant Whip. Surprise dried peas - so sweet.

Surprise peas were great, much nicer than ordinary dried peas and great for risottos and adding to soup or casseroles for the last few minutes of cooking.

Anne French cleansing milk. I did manage to get a bottle from Amazon last year but it's now unavailable everywhere. I have been using it for nearly 40 years.

Callard and Bowser nougat - it was covered in rice paper, which you ate, then wrapped in silver foil and boxed. Absolutely superb, but it was expensive.

Coty did a perfume I liked better than any, ever, I think it was called MeadowFresh, and it came in a white ceramic bottle.

Innoxa makeup, and the best thing ever for spots (thank goodness I grew out of them!) a thing called Propa PH. I used to get my Mum to do my back with it twice a day; it was the only thing that worked.

Callard and Bowser also made a lovely butterscotch, just like homemade. We always had a pack in our Christmas stocking.

kittylester I always loved Caramac and much to my surprise, I found some in a museum shop a couple of years ago. I don't know if it had changed, or if I'd changed, but it was horribly sickly sweet - like eating solidified condensed milk! Bleurgh!

Exactly the same. I used to love Caramac when I was young but the new version is so sickly. I wondered if it was me (as I don't have a particularly sweet tooth these days) or whether they have change the recipe

Proper Knight's Castille bars of soap; the only sort which didn't go soggy. They relaunched it a decade or so ago but it Wasn't The Same.

I really miss Burton's Potato Puffs, especially the barbecue flavour. I really wish they still existed

My favourite perfumes, Love Chloe and Escada Marine Groove.

Also Kung Po Chicken ready meals, all the supermarkets have stocked versions of it at one time or another, but none of them do it anymore.

Cremolia hand cream from Boots, cheap and excellent. Great memories of finishing the washing up with my mother in the evening after dinner and sharing her cream.

Suet on beef, for the lovely beef dripping
virol, a malt extract that we were given a spoonful every morning as kids, kept us healthy. Loved it so much, I used to sneak another spoonful when no one was looking ?.

I liked banana Toffee but a new shop open about a mile away and they sell all the old sweets but are lot expensive than when I was a child.

Sortilege perfume by Le Galion. First bought for me in mid 60’s. Found some on line but very expensive!

Coty used to do an avocado face cream, it was The best for dry skin and smelled gorgeous. Of course, it might not do such a good job on skin that's now 50 years older! Elizabeth Arden Blue Grass perfume is another, I think you can still get it but doesn't smell anything like the original. Oh, and Cachet perfume by Prince Matchiabelli.

When I was a child Cadbury's used to do a bar of chocolate divided up into 6 sections, each one had a filling from the Dairy Milk selection. There was a strawberry one, marzipan, coffee cream, orange cream and I couple of others. It was a special treat and was much cheaper than a whole box of chocolates.

Fry's had such a bar, like the peppermint cream but variety sections! Loved it it was so exotic!

I miss table creams also rice creamola and cabana chocolate bar

Used to have a perfume in 70 'Le de Givenchy' discontinued but found it again about 10 years ago reintroduced but aaargh! Not the same at all! Smelled like a 100 lillies+ and so overpowering, what we're they thinking? Did they lose the recipe or what?! Also used to love red henna powder! Fantastic for condition and amazingly beautiful colour.synthetic colours have all but destroyed my fab hair on occasion. Can get henna but hennara wan the best, smelled like old tea bags but a minor issue!

Rebane shampoo was great for greasy hair, Styx perfume, five boys chocolate that my GF used to buy for me.
Nuvan spray for fleas, ticks ants. Brilliant stuff for my collie years ago

I'm loving this thread, so many memories of long-forgotten things, the familiar perfumes that you can still smell, chocolates and foods you still remember the taste of - pure nostalgia. Thank you for posting Poppyjo!

I certainly remember Aqua Manda too along with Blase' , Sweet Honesty from Avon, Babe and Kikku perfumes as well. Oh and one of my favourite Jontue pefume that was supposed to smell like daffodils (according to the advert!

Aztec bars, bar Six, and Gypsy Creams, (which would very likely have to have a name change now), Fuller's Cakes.

coffee creams in dark chocolate. cant remember the make. coffee cake without flipping walnuts , black licorique boot laces, not the red things, and the little hard kind that we called spanish. Oh and yes wonderful white crunchy celery grown outside and with that lovely root bit. all our family loved that and so it was either a squabble over who had the last one or cutting it up into very small bits and share!

Rowntrees Texan chocolate bar. There is one for sale on eBay for £100 and it went out of date in 2006!!!
